Guest guest
I have a question. How many in this group have experienced what is called " nitrite headaches? " These are also called " hotdog headaches. " HERE IS MY STORY: My boyfriend and I ate corned beef and cabbage at a local restaurant last night (St. Paddy's Day). He had a green beer and I had Irish Coffee made with Bailey's. I saved most of my huge portion in a styrofoam doggie box. We had no ill effects last night. Today, I made corned beef hash from the leftovers, added cooked potatoes and an egg to each serving. Cooked each of our portions separately in the microwave. I had a dull hunger headache before eating. After eating, I got a sudden throbbing headache. Took Ibuprofen and lay down for an hour...headache gone. My boyfriend, on the other hand, about 3 hours later, had sudden onset of a throbbing headache as well. It was so bad, he vomited. He had no fever. He called off work, then stood in a hot shower. That seemed to alleviate the headache somewhat. He lay down for about two hours. Then he felt fine, as though he could go to work. Anyhow, I did a little web research & came up wih the nitrite theory. Would love to hear any feedback you all might have. Thanks, KK
