Guest guest
I still haven't finished it yet but I will send what I have. I am putting together a box for my mom for Christmas time and this letter will be in it for her. So this is what I got so far since so many people have asked. It is by all means not finished and I will send the finished letter out when I complete it but I don't want to rush it. I want to feel completely comfortable with what I give to my mother. I do not want to have anyone sending me any harsh arguments that they wouldn't do what I was using to help my mother etc. What may work for our family may not work for ours so feel free to adjust it to your needs. Anyway here you go... it is long *Dear Mother:* *Here is what I was talking to you on the phone about, to help you get off all those “scientific”drugs the doctors keep changing on you and to help you feel happier in your life – you have traveled down a very very rough road and have conquered many obsticals to get to where you are today. I am so very proud of you. * *When I first suggested that you see someone about possibly having Bipolar I did not know of the side effects that the drugs they would give you would do to your body. So in some part I feel bad for having you get checked but in the other part I am feeling better knowing I can help you heal and enjoy life through the very plants our God put on this earth. Ones that have no side effects and are meant for our bodies unlike the scientific ones that the doctors sell to stay on the political end of things.* *I will try to keep this simple for you and I want you to take this box that I put together for you and follow this schedule at least for a month until you are feeling comfortable with fitting the things into your own schedule. But I felt I must make the schedule to help you get on track or you may not follow it and only do some things here and there. I love you more then you know.* *First things first “eating habits” I know that your grocery budget is very very limited and your husband is not open to easy changes. So the things I am going to list for you to cook and eat through the day is only for you. HUGS * *Simple easy changes so it doesn’t feel like you are giving up some of the things you most love.* * * *Sunday* *Monday* *Tuesday* *Wednesday* *Thursday* *Friday* *Saturday* Breakfast Coffee Whole grain and fruit Coffee Whole grain and fruit Coffee Whole grain and fruit Coffee Whole grain and fruit Coffee Whole grain and fruit Coffee Whole grain and fruit Coffee Whole grain and fruit Snack Choose from the list of healthy snacks below Choose from the list of healthy snacks below Choose from the list of healthy snacks below Choose from the list of healthy snacks below Choose from the list of healthy snacks below Choose from the list of healthy snacks below Choose from the list of healthy snacks below Lunch * * Pasta with fresh veggies (recipe below)** Chicken Salad Sandwichveggies soup * * Pasta with fresh veggies * * * * Yogurt SandwichVeggies or fruit Salad of your choice Pasta with fresh veggies Snack Choose from the list of healthy snacks below** Choose from the list of healthy snacks below** Choose from the list of healthy snacks below** Choose from the list of healthy snacks below** Choose from the list of healthy snacks below** Choose from the list of healthy snacks below** Choose from the list of healthy snacks below** Dinner * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Whole grains – Breads, Rice or whole grain cereals, whole grain pasta Fruit – Fresh fruit whenever possible, but any fruit is better then none Dairy – I would prefer you use soy but I know you are set in your ways so any 2% dairy is fine. Meats – Please use lean meat whenever possible ** Less fried eggs, no more then 3 cups of coffee a day, since you are not used to drinking water, make yourself some iced tea to keep in the fridge and one jug of water. Please drink at least three full glasses a day and work your way up over the month to 8 glasses a day of the water or iced tea. Juice is ok but not as much as the water. I know you love salt, so do I J but please try to start using less and less each meal. If you are used to shaking it on 3 times, cut it down to 2, then 1. For the breakfast please feel free to add a poached egg rather then a fried one no more then two times a week. Simple Healthy Snack Ideas * Raw vegetables, such as celery, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, green pepper, green beans, cucumbers, mushrooms or zucchini may be served with a lowfat dip. * Fresh fruit in season, cut in slices or halves, such as apples, oranges, bananas, peaches, grapefruit, grapes, melons, pears, plums or strawberries. * breads and muffins, such as pumpkin, zucchini, banana or bran. * Non-sugared cereals, snack mixes made with popcorn and whole grain cereal. * Lowfat yogurt with fresh, frozen or canned fruit. * Shakes with lowfat milk or yogurt and fruit. * Unsweetened fruit juices. Set aside a " snack spot " in the refrigerator and cupboard; keep it stocked with nutritious ready-to-eat snacks. *Pasta and veggie Recipe:* Cook 8 oz pasta In a pan add olive oil to coat bottom. Add any of your favorite fresh veggies. I like to use eggplant, portabella mushrooms, onion, fresh garlic, dried tomatoes chopped. Parsley. You use what you like. Cook till mushrooms are done. Drain cooked pasta and rinse in cold water. Drain. Add pasta to the veggie mix and toss till noodles are warmed. You will have a lot left so put in fridge to eat another day. Dinner is open to you – but I want you to stay clear of fried foods (except once a week) using olive oil to fry with but please no deep fried stuff. Try healthier versions of things you like and make the veggie portions as big as you usually make your meat. *Herbal Remidies:* Please lower your dosages that you take now of “scientific drugs” each week lower it a bit more. Take them in the afternoon so as not to mix them with the herbals I will be listing. At the end is a listing of all herbs and there uses. I want you to take one half of a SAM-E tablet in the morning with juice, water, or iced tea at the same time you make your coffee. You want to take this on an empty stomach. This is something you should take daily. ( Do not take more then a half – it could cause more manic instead of helping stabilize the serotonin levels) After your coffee and some breakfast please take the Shatavari to help balance out your hormones. (1 per day) Take 1 vitamin B-Complex and 2 Spectrum Essentials Omega -3 softgels On the bipolar days that are Low and you are feeling down and out – Please take immediately upon feeling of desperation and exhaustion two dropper full of “Lift Your Spirits” Tincture in ¼ cup of warm milk. This is also the time to STOP everything you are doing. Sit down in a comfy chair.. get out all your photo albums and sit and look at all the memories of the ones that love you and that you love. Put on some music. Anything that lifts your spirits. Refuse the strong urge to sleep all day. Lift your spirit tincture: Includes the following (still working on this part) Negative emotions are often the cause of major neuro-psychiatric diseases including various types of anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder!!! STOP BEATING ON YOURSELF!!! YOU ARE A GOOD PERSON This includes avoiding conflict, aggression, hostility and other negative emotions that adversely affect physical and mental health. Such a lifestyle is stress-resistant - it is serene, peaceful, patient and tolerant and avoids extremes of emotions. Do what makes you feel right. Don’t let others try to make that choice for you.*/__/* */_Basics of Ayurveda-_/* *Ayurveda- A Complete Science of Life* * How can this ancient system of health care be relevant to people of today, when technological advances have radically altered our lifestyles, our environment and our medicine?* * The principles of Ayurveda are an invaluable link to understanding, in detail, naturally healthy living. People everywhere are realizing the importance and benefits of taking personal responsibility for one's own well being, making Ayurveda the perfect system of health knowledge for today's world.* * Ayurveda is a science of life so to know more about it, we must know what is life? Life according to Ayurveda is a combination of senses, mind, body and soul. So it is clear from this definition of life that Ayurveda is not only limited to body or physical symptoms but also gives a comprehensive knowledge about spiritual, mental and social health.* * The words like soul and spirituality might sound outdated or create a negative thinking in some of you as they have no place in modern science. As soon as we hear about these topics, we become uncomfortable. Actually, I don't feel that it is our fault. No one has ever spoken about these things to us. We are always trapped in the attractions of outer material world to become happy and peaceful.* * The modern society, education, culture and the television- everything speaks about materialism. If this was everything why is it so that most us are unhappy. There is unrest, anxiety, mental tension, fighting and terror every where despite best efforts being made to stop them. This is because some part of our body is not being nourished properly.* *Be open minded and try to understand. * * * *What is Ayurveda?* * Ayurveda literally means " science of life and longevity. " and is considered to be the traditional system of medicine of **India**. * * Ayurveda is a science in the sense that it is a complete system. It is a qualitative, holistic science of health and longevity, a philosophy and system of healing the whole person, body and mind. * * The origin of this system goes back to a far past, in which philosophy and medicine were not separated. Therefore, philosophical views have strongly influenced the Ayurvedic way of thinking.* MOM: I have attached a Dosha test to see where you might be off balance.
