Guest guest
Hi, I know I post alot, But I really need some advise now. I am scarred to death now as my 6 week postpartum checkup brought up Atypical cells abnormal papsmear. Now when I had the recheck done it came back the same and the doctor wants to do a Colposcopy. I am so scared to death. Two years ago at the age of 28 I had surgery for endimetriosis and the removal of some thick hard fat cells that punctured my bladder and my uterius. I am so scared.. they said the procedure is painful and cramping... I Know I have to go get it done.. is there any thing I can take besides Motherwort right before the apt to help me stay calm and something that is much stronger painreliever than tylenol or advil .. Any recomendations is greatly appreciated. I am in tears right now. thx Deana
Guest guest
Deana, perhaps this would be a good time to use your call to Doc. Guest guest
Hi Deana, I had a colposcopy done last Oct -- I have a history of abnormal PAPs (yes, I do still get them, dunno why) and this one was I guess a tad more abnormal. (How the docs say " Now, I don't want to scare you.... " ) Are the cells that bad, or is the doctor pushing it? If he/she hadn't told you, cervical cells are slow and cancer of the cervix is generally slow to start. How much later was the 2nd PAP? Six months I hope? Don't let the doctor push you into rushing out of fear -- which will, of course, make any real problem worse. Very few of us are textbook, and most " abnormal " cells are simply healthy cells with different appearances. Others on this list will tell you ways to get healthier and not need PAPs in the first place. I just want to tell you to try to calm down and not be scared, remember there are lots of people earning their livings off of other women's abnormal cells. Guest guest
The second pap was 5 months later. I think it scared me more because I got a Certified letter from the test follow up people about it and certified mail is not common in our house . Thanks for your support.
