Guest guest
Hi everyone I am quite new at the whole herbal scene but enjoy reading and learning from the posts. I have a few questions in hopes that I can find answers. Sorry if I sound to "green" no pun intended LOL! What are tinctures and what are they used for? What is the best, cheapest way to make a tincture? Can you mix a tincture with a carrier oil to create an oil suitable for personal use such a massages or bath oil? What are the liquids most commonly used and which one provides the best result? Regarding measuring herb to liquid ratio, what would be an easy way to measure to make sure that the tincture is right? What plants and herbs are no no's for tinctures and why? Do tinctures have medicinal value and if so, what tinctures can be ingested? How long should a tincture sit before being drained and used? OILS: Can olive oil be used as a carrier oil and if so what essential oils can I mix with it? What plants are no - no's when making oils? How do I make a plant or flower based oil? Can I use fresh or dried flowers and herbs? Any good books, websites or other resources on these topics? Thank you "The most magickal of tools that one can posess is his or herself" Tonya http://gatosmom.diaryland.com/
