Guest guest
Hey all! After all the medicinal stuff I've made, I feel rather silly about this question, but...I happened to encounter a LOT of free-growing peppermint and chamomile, and the people who's yard its " infesting " (hee) said I could take as much as I like. I would LOVE to have chamomile and peppermint teas for the winter months (and for my friend!), but I have no idea how to make these plants into teas! What parts should I use? Do they have to be dried? How? Argh, help! *lol* All advice will be blushingly appreciated, ST
Guest guest
Sara, wow! what a find! you can make peppermint tea out of the leaves just by simply pouring hot water over them, either fresh or dried. Adjust the amount of leaves by taste. Can be dried by cutting, tying by the stems in small bunches, and hanging upside down in a room out of the sunlight. Or use a dehydrator. chamomile, you use just the flowers, making the tea basically the same way as peppermint... very easy! This is one way of doing it anyway. Guest guest
Hi I am new here on the group and your post caught my eye. When I lived in Mexico we used to make tea wiith the free growing herbs or buy them in the market. All you do iswash then throughly and cut any stems, for chamomile you use the flowering part, for peppermint, use the leaves, if there are stems cut them off, it makes the tea bitter.
