chopping roots and bark

I’m burning through food processors and still ending up with course, hard bark and roots.

I soak them in water for a few days before attempting to put them in a processor or blender. If I'm making a tincture, I soak them in the vodka. Water should also do the trick.

What is the best way to chop hard roots and bark for the consistency

to use for herbal tea? I’m burning through food processors and still

ending up with course, hard bark and roots.

Thanks,

I know of an herbal supply store and they use a vitamix blender to chop

anything or make powders, that thing is old, rugged, and duct taped to

hold it together it's been used so much.

Myself, I've use a hammer on ginseng and other hard roots. I cover with

a cloth to prevent stuff from flying everywhere.
