Mountainroseherbs says theirs are organic and altho quite a

difference in price, it would seem to me to be a safer place to

purchase from ?

I personally always go with certified organic or wildcrafted. I get my herbs from either Mountain Rose or Pacific Botanicals. Pacific Botanicals has a 1 pound minimum of each herb. You can get 1/4 lb. at Mountain Rose. Both places are great quality.

Hi, I looked into a couple of the places that supply bulk herbs and

noticed that herbalcom.com is not organic altho they do state their

herbs are free of pesticide/herbicide BUT I notice that many are

imported and I believe that means they get sprayed anyway.

A great place to get herbs is Pacific Botanicals at

www.pacificbotanicals.com Most of their herbs are organic or wild

crafted. And their prices are very good.

Have a very good week..

Pacific Botanicals is used by many master herbalists I am associated with through school. The reputation of Pacific Botanicals seems to be very good.

Pacific Botanicals carries top-notch herbs and has excellent customer service. I order from them when I need a pound or more. If I need less, or they simply don't have a certain herb, I go with Mountain Rose, which is also quite good.

These are mostly imported and no claim to be organic but prices are

excellent at http://www.greenladysgarden.com

no minimum purchase, I believe the best prices I've ever seen anywhere.

I question claims about wildcrafted and organic herbs, unless you know

who does the ceretification and their criteria for organic you can't be

certain what it is. There are many false claims of organic online.

Please thouroughly check them out before paying the higher prices.

I have sent them an email asking who has certified them as organic,

since their website makes organic claims but nowhere does it state they

are certified organic. I'll post the response.

I'm serious about checking up on your source. Many suppliers claim to

be organic simply because they can charge more.

I once called Pacific Botanicals and talked to one of the people who "run" the farm.We had a lengthy discussion about how strict they are when it comes to the quality and purity of their herbs. He said that their requirements for wildcrafted goes even above and beyond what the standard "wildcrafted" is. I'll be interested in reading your e-mail from them.

The email I sent them bounced back. The email address is no longer in

service. I am going to try the phone number next. While I was visiting

the website again to check for more email addresses I saw the page does

claim certification but does not state who certified them.

I'm a member of Organic Consumers Association (

http://www.organicconsumers.org/ )and I thing they've done an article

about this sort of thing, I'll check.
