Guest guest
I bought some bulk herbs. I was supposed to order the Senna Pods powdered but I order them whole by accident. I put them into my coffee grinder and it made some powder but it took about 1/2 hour to make 1/8 of a cup. What does everyone do to powder their herbs?? Guest guest
Rob, to powder herbs, I use a variety of tools. First, I usually put them in a coffee grinder (that's reserved for herbs only). If that doesn't produce a fine enough product to suit me, I next use a mortar and pestle, then usually return them to the herb grinder. If I'm doing a large batch at a time, I might use the food processor first. Lou > I bought some bulk herbs. I was supposed to order the Senna Pods powdered > but I order them whole by accident. Guest guest
Thanks for the feedback, Lou I have a coffee grinder that I use for my flax seed in the morning. It works great for flax seed but I put the senna pods in it and it created a light fluffy mixture. Eventually it turned some of it into powder but at a snails pace. Maybe I have a crappy coffee grinder. I also use mine just for herbs as I don't drink coffee too much. Maybe I need to look into an upgraded coffee grinder. thanks for the info, Rob louherbs [louherbs] Tuesday, September 21, 2004 6:08 PM herbal remedies Re: Herbal Remedies - herb grinder Rob, to powder herbs, I use a variety of tools.
