Guest guest
Welcome to the group, Sandra Not sure about the chest infections, but for colds I do the following, in no particular order (except the first two suggestions--I do those first and foremost): --Kyolic Garlic (orange label) with astragulus and Vitamin C. --I mix the garlic with more 1000-mg capsules of Vitamin C (capsules are recommended because they digest better than tablets) AND about 3 cayenne capsules. If this gives you a pain in your tummy, take 3 ginger capsules. --Eat soup, oatmeal, and other easy-to-digest foods like that. Avoid oranges, they are " yin " according to , and since a cold is also a yin condition, you may make the condition worse. Treat it with yang herbs like cayenne and ginger. --Put Bayberry tincture (a dropperful or 2, maybe start with just 1) in soup or tea. Bayberry breaks up stubborn and stuck congestion and is particularly good when you're blowing your nose but nothing comes out. It gets stuff MOVING again. --Breathe steam with Eucalyptus in it. Breaks up congestion and will deliver therapy to the lungs/chest as well. --AVOID ALL sugar and dairy. They make more mucus and lower the body's immune system. --Drink LOTS of water--at least a gallon a day. And it shouldn't be ice water or otherwise cold. It should be as warm as you can stand and must, at minimum, be lukewarm. That gets your lymph fluid moving. --See a massage therapist who does lymphatic drainage and have it done 3 times. The body likes things in 3's. It's a very gentle painless massage done while the patient is unclothed but under a sheet at all times except for the part being worked on. The pressure is very light and it takes roughly an hour, sometimes less. It feels too light to be doing any good, but the body's reaction (and sometimes the emotional reaction, cuz it's an emotional cleanse, too) is very profound. It sends the body into a deep cleansing/detoxifying mode and is truly awesome. --Chiropractic adjustments to the spine boost the immune system by *7 times (that's 700%)* --If that's not an option, a hot foot bath will increase your body temp, and for every degree your body temp rises, your immune system is boosted by 7%. --Acupuncture works very well for congestion itself, and toxicity as well, which is a VERY common cause of more ailments than ppl think! Hope that helps. In love & light, --Jen herbal remedies , SANDRA OCONNOR <sandra.oconnor2@b...> wrote: > hi i am new, and i was wondering if anyone could suggest anything for colds and chest infection, i do seem to get one after another,
Guest guest
What kind of infections? Is your chest dry, wet, phlegm, bloody? There are a lot of options and it depends on what the problem is. Guest guest
hi i am new, and i was wondering if anyone could suggest anything for colds and chest infection, i do seem to get one after another, I also am prone to both. I take echinacea tincture and it nips it in the bud. Last winter I ran out and had a cold/chest infection once a month. The year before I had echinacea and didn't get sick once!! This year I made enough tincture to last 3 years!!! This stuff works like a charm if you take it right away...the very first signs of coming down with anything! Guest guest
Sounds like your immune system needs building up Sandra. I would suggest looking in the files for Total Tonic and Echinacea. Both of these will handle any infection you have, and build your immune system also. love Lisa - SANDRA OCONNOR herbal remedies Sunday, September 19, 2004 11:27 AM Re: Herbal Remedies - Can you suggest something for colds hi i am new, and i was wondering if anyone could suggest anything for colds and chest infection, i do seem to get one after another,Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Guest guest
ginger is excellent for colds and heart infections. I have some organic ginger tincture I made to put into a heart formula for a friend of mine. I suppose I could also keep some for myself to have on hand when cold season comes around. Thanks!!
