Guest guest
Lauren, I know you feel strongly in your beliefs, but everybody is at a different phase of development in their journey. This woman is going through a big depression. That usually means that you cannot see beyond yourself (editorial "you" and "yourself") to look at the larger global issues. If someone is desperate enough, they are not going to care whether there civil rights are violated, or whether their health is put in jeopardy in the long run, as long as someone's promising that magic bullet there's always going to be someone to say "shoot me" My own journey started out with me thinking herbal remedies was pure "poppycock". Then, I became curious after everything didn't work. I joined this list (and a few others) and then I thought that Alternative medicine should compliment Allopathic Medicine. Then, I started thinking the complete opposite. Now, I'm still thinking that Allopathic medicine should compliment Alternative Medicine, but the less Allopathic intervention the better - I think I'm still evolving! I hope so, anyway. At this point, I see someone reaching out, but uncertain as to what she needs to grasp. While, I agree with what you are saying, I think the way it's coming across might be too strong for someone who may be feeling insecure, and may scare her or anyone in her situation away. I really don't think that's your intention here. I don't think we need to babysit her and enable her to stay depressed, but I think that maybe we should give some space. Answer her questions factually, and let her draw her own conclusions for what's right for her. Let her know this is not the forum to talk about allopathic meds, and explain what that means if need be. She knows she needs to live better - that's a start. If she's not willing to change, then she's not going to. It's like the old saying goes you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. Tammi ------------ So just to be clear you are saying "I wish someone would violate my civil rights and invade my privacy so that I can get some mind altering poison for free"? I have also crawled out from under massive depression and even psychosis WITHOUT medication. I know that the medication can make it seem like you are in a better place but in reality you are not dealing with your problems that got you there in the 1st place. If you want the whole grueling story I can email it to you off list or if there is anybody else out there that wants it, I will put it on list. It's not about meds, it's about dealing with life's crap. ----------- We are all about helping people help themselves. If you are dedicated to the drugs and the junk food then I'm sorry but there is nothing we can do for you. If you are interested in a real life change and being free from the vicious cycle then you have come to the right place. It's your decision, and I mean that in the most clear sense of the word. It is not a choice that is made for you by your surroundings, this is something in which you have complete control.
