Guest guest
Hello Christy, I've been following your posts and wanted to share some wisdom, thought and support. I'm only 24 but have suffered through bouts of serious depression and anxiety. I've gone through 4 different chemical anti- depressants/anti-anxiety medications and my partners have been through their own struggles with medications. This is one of my reasons for studying herbs and natural health. Brian and I were just talking this morning about how since he met me, his diet has changed drastically, and even though he is no longer on his prescribed medication, he no longer feels edgey or like he needs to withdraw. He's been a happier man and is more social than he was even when I met him. We both believe that this is because of the healthier diet and healthier living choices (including herbal remedies). I have also strived to get both my partners and myself to take liquid vitamins and eat more whole grains, fruits and vegetables. (I myself am a lacto/ovo vegetarian sometimes eating fish). It CAN be done. Really and truly. My thoughts are that you need to start ONE STEP AT A TIME. You dont have to completely give up sweets and chocolate and comfort foods, but you need to learn to look at food differently. Savor and enjoy it, knowing that better foods are doing better things to your body. It will take willpower but at this point, you are desperate and should really think about what is going into your system. You don't have to do it all at once either. Start with a bit of exercise daily and MAKE yourself do it. Then start substituting some foods, or a bit of your foods for healthier choices. Write down what you are eating daily and see what you can eat less of, or replace with better foods such as veggies, fruits and whole sprouted grains. Baby steps and eventually, you will be a healthier person, inside and out. Healing the inside helps heal your outside and even your emotional and mental bodies. Trust me. Little steps and support from people like the members of this group will help. What do you think? Best, Sarah Anne
Guest guest
That is part of what I was trying to say, but you put it better than I did. Thanks. Tammi - Julie Hensley herbal_Remedies Monday, September 13, 2004 7:09 AM Herbal Remedies - Christy How many people found this list or this approach that were already on it? I recognize that Christy has found relief from some of her issues through a method that isn't part of this list... but I don't know that in and of itself means that she doesn't belong here. I am certain that lots of people look at this list and absorb its ideas and either make use of them in spurts and sputters, perhaps not at all, but it sinks into their over all approach to life. Others may embrace it as a complete lifestyle... I'd like to think that there is room for us all. Christy came here looking for help... it looks like it isn't exactly what she thought it would be.. but that doesn't mean she can't still get some assistance and I hope it doesn't mean that she has to leave if her expectations set her up to expect something a bit different.
