My sister has Leaky Gut Syndrome and/or Irritiable Bowel Syndrome. I know both of these are related to a candida overgrowth. She is going to perform a series of colonics to clean out her colon and intestines. What I want to find out is what herbs are good to heal and repair the intestinal tract. Can anyone shed some light on this??

First of all a colonic will not help candida. It in fact may make it

worse. Leaky gut syndrome is not caused by a candida overgrowth, it

is usually caused by allergic reactions to food such as dairy and

wheat. Other allerngens that may cause your sisters' problem are soy,

corn, chocolate and eggs. It can also be caused by a lack of high

fiber foods in the diet. If your sister is eating a lot of white

refined flour, this may be one of the problems. White flour is like

glue in the intestines. It slows down the transit time and can cause

inflammation in the intestines. Who ever is telling your sister to do

a colonic does not know what they are talking about. Diet is the

primary cause and will be the way to rectify your sisters' problem.

There are a few herbs that will help. Enteric coated peppermint will

stop the spasms. MSM will help to stop the leaky gut. However it

will only work if the diet is changed.

Hope this helps,

James

I have done a lot of research on this and a candida overgrowth can be one

cause of leaky gut. She also has symptoms of IBS and has bad asthma also

cause of a systematic yeast infection.
