Guest guest
I think I have heel spurs. My feet hurt when I get up first thing in the morning and when I've rested for awhile. I'd like to find a natural way to make them better. Thanks for your help. Holly
Guest guest
Hi Holly, That's classic description of what is called Plantar Fasciitis. More simply put, it is an inflammation of the fascia (or outside covering) of the tendons and muscles in the arch or bottom of your foot. I have it, my significant other has it...and it can be terribly painful. It hurts most after resting, when the fascia and tendons have tightened back up. The pain is the fascia being stretched out again (which is why it hurts when you get up in the morning) Even Doctors have very little to do to fix it, however I've found that arnica oil (I created my own infusion) works well to combat the soreness. Other lifestyle things that can help include the following: 1) Stretching your feet or massaging your arches before getting out of bed in the morning or before getting up after a long rest. 2) place a tennis ball on the floor an dgently roll it back and forth with your foot to gently stretch the muscle. 3) massaging and ice to reduce swelling. 20 min on, 20 min off (repeat 3x a day) 4) I currently am on high doses of ibuprofen (which is horrible for your stomach but helps the pain) Rest is really one of the only things to relieve symptoms long term! Let me know if I can help more! Best, Sarah Anne herbal remedies , Holly Van Tassel <peacefull762002> wrote: > I think I have heel spurs. Guest guest
Holly, When I had a long, painful bout with heel spurs about five years ago, I ran across an interesting and quite informative article: http://www.heelspurs.com/_intro2.html It has a paragraph on Vitamins and Nutritional Supplements that you might find interesting. Bromelain and other enzymes are recommended for dealing with inflammation. Hope that helps, KathyHolly Van Tassel <peacefull762002 wrote: I think I have heel spurs. Guest guest
I had heel spurs about 24 years ago. I read and read, and found out the reason for heel spurs is that even though they are a deposit of calcium, the body is actually not getting *enough* calcium. (It may also be that the body does not digest the calcium correctly.) So I started taking a synergistic herbal calcium supplement, as I knew I wasn't eating right at the time also. It took about a year, but I got rid of the heel spurs; and have never had them since. As a side note, I had been having pain in my teeth in one particular area of my mouth, which my dentist (after three visits) could never find anything wrong, not a crack, nothing. After six months of taking the herbal calcium, my teeth gradually stopped hurting. Guest guest
I had something wierd calcium-wise happen recently and your email reminded me of it. Shortly after breaking a couple bones at the end of July this year, my teeth began to hurt. After upping my Lemon Egg for a while, that stopped! I think my body just had a suddenly higher demand for calcium than before, and once I provided it, the pain in my teeth went away! Guest guest
Isn't it amazing when one really pays attention to one's own body symptoms and signs! It *does* all work together!
