When doing the survey, it is important to not complain about the third party ads and not vote for any of the goodies they are aksing about, as they will form the basis of the Premuim service. Also when you get the chance in the survey, mention that it will affect your use of the auction site as well as not wanting premuim service. Storage for photos, folders, and files are currently at 5 MB and 500 MB for messages. This is what we want to keep without paying. Guest guest
Other than this email... does anyone have any reference from about this? There isn't word one on the website or in any search I've done online. I think... based on alot of internet sales and marketing experience.. that would be idiots to make this move since there are plenty of other options for groups to be hosted for free elsewhere. The advertising sales on this cash cow are obvious as well as the fact that most of the groups don't have an obvious reason or source of revenue (many are "community and interest" oriented but without clubs) for paying the fees. The only emails I've seen about this, had the link and someone else's comments asking us to go complete it and make racket that we want to keep it free. I just don't think its that big an issue.. since one of the other group hosts would be more than happy to take care of any group that wanted to leave as a result of this change (were it to come to pass) just as a number of the groups that I am on now used to be part of other group lists. Guest guest
I filled out the survey. Where the choices are neither good or bad, I left 'em blank, then gave 'em an ear full in the places where my opinion was asked for. I told them I'd move the list to a different host if they screwed with it in any fashion. The truth is that I'd survey all of you myself before this was done. We'll wait for the final outcome, but I'd appreciate it if y'all would go fill out the survey.
