Guest guest Posted September 3, 2004 Report Share Posted September 3, 2004 It is my understanding that a *part* is by volume, not weight. A * part* may be a teaspoon, cup, .... any volume measure. For example in a formula where there is 1 part sugar 2 parts salt 3 parts flour you would decide what a *part* is , depending on how much of the herb you have on hand and how much of the end product you want to produce, and measure accordingly.
