Guest guest
Just curious, when you say 2 days later I applied another rubbing of the oil. Did you bathe again too? I know that bathing a dog too much will cause problems, so I think you mean to just add the oil. And where do you get it? thanks. After trying alotof remedies, the following has rid me of fleas. We are in Louisiana, very wet and my dogs are in and out as they please so the fleas wereeven bugging me until I lotioned my dogs with EMU oil. You can get itonline and I paid 19.00 for 8 oz. including shipping. I have used 2oz. in a month and I treat 2 rottweillers and a schnauser every other day:First, I shampood them with a mild pet shampoo.Any shampoo let ontheir skin for five minutes will kill the fleas. The soap affectsfleas exoskeleton.I did NOT USE FLEA SHAMPOO, just plain old dogshampoo. I let the shampoo sit in their coat for 5 minutes. Then Irinsed, and applied the emu oil to their coats. I rubbed a quartersized amount in my palms and dotted it along thei coat. Then Imassaged it in their coat.I did their face and eyes and tail areareally well. Then I let them sit in the back of the truck to dry sothey wouldn't roll. 2 days later, i applied another rubbing of oil. 2days later, I bathed them and oiled them again. I have been doing thisfor 1 month and the fleas are gone. I didn't see 1 flea their lastbath. I hope this healps you. Everything else I tried helped a little, but never really stopped the itching and scratching. Even 1 flea bitehas my dogs really itchy. They are also RAW dogs, but this wet reallyhelps the fleas spread. Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire. 2. Guest guest
I just applied the emu oil on the 2nd day after the bath. I bathe the dogs every four or six days depending on the itching. After the third week, there was no itching so I stopped bathing, and just put the emu oil every 2 or 3 days. I have been flea free for now 3 weeks. I have been treating them for 6 weeks. My dogs are also raw dogs. I feed them blended greens and fruit, with 3 cloves of garlic, and then mix up a large can of sardines in the A.M. This feeds 2- 100 plus pound Rottweillers and 1 -12 lb schnauser. I chop up raw bones into bite size chunks with a meat cleaver in the P.M. I can get a box of bones for $5 from my local butcher and I bought the emu oil from cedarvale naturals online. I looked for the cheapest oil I could find, because oils are pretty pricey. I am now trying to find a way to emulsify the oil so I can spray it. It would be a lighter coat treatment and easier for me than to give my dogs a rubdown every other day. They needed a heavy oil to protect their coat while the flea bites healed, but now their coat is healthy again and I only want to maintain that health. Good luck. ===== Love and Laughter, Theresa M.
