Guest guest
My 5 year old son has JMMl leaukemia . He is 7 months post bone marrow transplant. I have been working with a naturalist since he was diagnosed last October. A lab test done by the great plains lab. showed a high mercury level. My naturalist suggested a heavy mercury cleanse using a Nature's Sunshine product. He tried it for a week and his eosinophil count went way up . This is usually seen in an allergic reaction. Could this have been related to the mercury cleanse? What symptoms have anyone experience doing a heavy metal cleanse? Thankyou for all your experience. Nancy First of all why are you giving a sick little boy an adult product? This naturalist is not helping you. There are very easy ways of ridding the body of any heavy metal poisonig. Apple pectin or barley grass chelate heavy metals, with no side effects. I am wondering, where did your son become exposed to mercury? Do you feed him alot of tuna? Hope this helps, James
Guest guest
Bentonite clay works well with heavy metals... here is some information to check out: http://www.experiencefestival.com/topic/articles/article/2064 Good luck to you
Guest guest
I would exercise extreme care with the use of bentonite clay. It works great as a cleanser because it absorbs an enormous amount of toxins in the colon. However, and I emphasize this however -- if you are prone to constipation or slow digestion or have a prolapsed colon (meaning it droops in the middle) you can end up with the bentonite turning into a column of concrete in your colon. Then the toxins back up into the bloodstream instead of being ejected through the feces and you get autointoxication. Most people I know don't use bentonite until having had several colonics to clear out anything that is backed up. Guest guest
Things that really work great to detox mercury, provided you are experiencing peristalsis and are able to move the toxins out readily would be any food containing sulphur, like eggs. Sulphur binds with mercury to pull it out of the body. Megadoses of Vitamin C are another. Some people actually do IV hook-ups with Vitamin C. However, I wouldn't do any mercury detox unless all mercury fillings were already removed from the mouth. Otherwise, you get the mercury merely relocating, sometimes in the brain. Infra-red saunas are an excellent way to remove mercury. Just make sure there are plenty of towels under you to catch the mercury-laden sweat so it doesn't set inside the wood of the sauna. Good luck! Pixie herbal remedies , " eriewindrider " <eriewindrider> wrote: > My 5 year old son has JMMl leaukemia . He is 7 months post bone > marrow transplant. Guest guest
And taking cilantro is also very good. You can add to salads, or veggie juices, or make cilantro pesto as salad dressing. jasminapixiepie2003 <pixiepie2003 wrote: Things that really work great to detox mercury, provided you are experiencing peristalsis and are able to move the toxins out readily would be any food containing sulphur, like eggs. Guest guest
> I am wondering, where did your son become exposed to mercury? Do you feed him alot of tuna? And other possible sources of mercury include vaccines, flu shots, prescription drugs, other seafood products, dental fillings, factory emissions, etc? All of these things are quite damaging to a system, and there are other hazards in these sources *in addition* to mercury! Just my input, --Jen

Nancy symptoms can be pretty nasty, because mercury is stored in the fat, where it's mostly harmless. by detoxing, you're pulling it out of the fat and it's going through the body to get out. this is good in the long run, but not so fun in the short run. whichever method for detox that you choose (there's been good ones in the responses), make sure that you are strongly supporting liver and kidney function! minimally burdock and dandelion roots for liver (i also like sarsaparilla and sassafrass roots), and red clover, dandelion leaf, plantain, and calendula for kidneys. -katja
Guest guest
Hello, I read your post about your son. I am passing this along to you because ironically I just read it this morning.Call me at 619-229-8779 or email me for futher information concerning Cordyceps sinensis. I think anyone dealing with human lukemia needs this updated study in thier hands. Looking forward to your reply.Blessings on your family. Kathy kathysacreddancer 1: Life Sci. 1997;60(25):2349-59. Related Articles, Links Effect of Cordyceps sinensis on the proliferation and differentiation of human leukemic U937 cells.Chen YJ, Shiao MS, Lee SS, Wang SY.Department of Medical Research, Veterans General Hospital-Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China.Cordyceps sinensis is a herb medicine with antitumor activity capable of suppressing the growth of mouse Sarcoma 180 in vivo. In the present study, we have isolated polysaccharide fraction of Cordyceps sinensis (PSCS) and investigated its effect on the proliferation and differentiation of human leukemic U937 cells using an in vitro culture system. Our results showed that the conditioned medium from PSCS (10 microg/ml)-stimulated blood mononuclear cells (PSCS-MNC-CM) had an activity that could significantly inhibit the proliferation of U937 cells resulting in a growth inhibition rate of 78-83%. Furthermore, PSCS-MNC-CM treatment induced about 50% of the cells differentiating into mature monocytes/macrophages expressing nonspecific esterase (NSE) activity and the surface antigens of CD11b, CD14, and CD 68. Yet, the differentiated U937 cells also had functions of phagocytosis and superoxide production. However, PSCS alone or normal MNC-CM had no such effects. The levels of interferon (IFN)-gamma, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha, and interleukin (IL)-1 were very low in normal MNC-CM, and they were greatly increased in MNC-CM prepared with PSCS stimulation. Antibody neutralization studies further revealed that the tumoricidal and differentiating effects of PSCS-MNC-CM were mainly derived from the elevated cytokines, especially IFN-gamma and TNF-alpha. These two cytokines acted synergistically on inhibiting cell growth and inducing differentiation of the target U937 cells.
