Guest guest
Hi, I am very grateful to all the info the list post in regaurds to health and herbs. I have a question about using herbs in foods to get children to use them and like them. I myself hate herb preps that taste bad. So far I have found a smoothie recipe for garlic and a tea recipe for cinnamin and clove that my children really like. Does anyone have recipes that children love that incorporates herbs? Thanks in advance
Guest guest
Some tips: You can sneak herbs in anywhere. If you serve soups and use vegetable stocks, you can add in some stingng nettle infusion to the stock. I've made risotto before using oatstraw infusion instead of broth. You can make instant oatmeal with tea such as chamomile or oatstraw instead of using water. You can use herbs such as stinging nettle and self heal on pizza or sprinkled in soups. You can mix herbs such as dried parsley, nettle, and dill weed into creamcheese or butter. You can also try mixing hot apple juice in with teas such as rosehips, chamomile, oatstraw, or hops. You can use peppermint tea instead of hotwater in hot chocolate mix. Think: where can I put this herb so no one will notice? Ginger tastes great in anything oatmeal or apple related. Homemade applesauce with ginger and cinnamon. You can mix rosepetals with peanutbutter and honey. I got this trick from rosemary gladstar- you can powder and mix herbs that don't taste good with herbs that do (like cinnamon) and then wet the herbs slightly with fruit concentrate and honey and use it as a spread for toast or bread. You can probably use jam instead of fruit conserve and skip the honey. I hope I helped. I don't have kids but I like to try and find ways to incorporate wild and dried herbs in my cooking. Plus, I bet no one will notice if you make sourcream and onion dip or something but throw something in there like stinging nettle or dried parsley. You can also try powdering herbs that are yucky and mixing them with herbs that are tasty- mixing in some peanut butter and honey and maybe a little powdered milk, rolling them into balls, and then dipping them in chocolate. Happy cooking. herbal remedies , " hooked_on_travel " <hooked_on_travel> wrote: > Hi, I am very grateful to all the info the list post in regaurds to > health and herbs.
