Guest guest
My dentist told me 6-7 months ago I needed two root canals. Not overly anxious to put more mercury in my system and keep a continous infection. Its been fine until the other night it was like a jolt of electricity went through this has happened several times. I've been using clove bud oil to numb it and packing clove buds next to my gum and cheek. The oil only numbs it for so long and the pressure from the buds seems to help. And I've been downing 5 cloves of garlic twice a day to combat the infection which I believe is causing the pain. I can't keep doing this indefinitely what if any thing is available as an option? Any help with this before the left side of my face explodes would be greatly appreciated. Best R's, O.
Guest guest
Dear O. -- I have escaped two root canals by taking colloidal silver (50 PPM), one tablespoon as needed (swish around aching tooth) to get rid of the pain first, then after that, a dose a day for a couple weeks to get the infection out of the tooth. The infection got in the tooth through the blood, so one can get it out through the blood (with the colloidal silver). A root canal will push the infection further up into the gum tissue, and who knows where else from there! Guest guest
Hi O, My dentist (who's also an ND) used some durable nontoxic patch for my tooth after about 1/3 or so of it broke off. I had found this ND/DDS after consulting with 2 other dentists who also each said I needed 2 root canals. Refusing to accept that the conventional way was my only option, I found the ND/DDS's small ad in a free holistic magazine. He's the kind who sterilizes his instruments in steam and grapefruit seed extract! He rocks! He blasted my teeth clean (painlessly) using high-pressure waterstream and a nontoxic baking soda solution (probably just baking soda and water). The patch he put on my tooth was experimental, he said it was designed to be a temporary filling but hopefully it'd last longer and so far it has. It's been over a year now and it functions just as well as the day I had the job done. The man is an artist. Find a REAL holistic dentist (not one who's " holistic " just because it's a fad--one of the dentists I consulted before this guy called himself " holistic " simply because he didn't use mercury fillings anymore...he still used the toxic mainstream cleaning solutions and did everything conventionally. Mercury-free is great, but it ain't enough to be considered holistic!) So anyway, sorry to ramble, it's late. Hope that helps! Guest guest
Gosh, if I had an infection, I would rince my mouth with epsom salts in as hot of water as I could. I find epsom salts to be the absolutely best infection remover, bar none. But you have to use it hot. Guest guest
Our concern is that the tooth really needs to come out,but we dont have the finances for that. We were curious if there was a way to help the root heal itself and so this thread is interesting. I had a "bad" tooth last year and I tried everything! Clove, garlic, tooth and gum, cayenne, echinacea, peppermint oil, the water pik 3 times a day, compresses, visualization etc. One day it blew up. The pain was sooo bad I didn't care what they did. I caved in, called my dentist, and had an emergency root canal. At that point I just didn't care. I couldn't afford it and put it on my credit card. THAT'S how bad it was. Wish I could help you out here but after doctoring that tooth religiously for a year and a half, it came down to the root canal. Maybe a holistic dentist could give you more options. Guest guest
I'd like to hear some good ideas or theories about this myself. Both DH and i have teeth that are bothering us right now. DH's is WAAAY worse thanmine though as he had a filling that fell out several months ago and now the entire area is just plain MAD! He's been extremely diligent is keeping the tooth and cavern clean, and using Peppermint, Tea Tree and Clove oils in the Water pik to promote comfort and keep any infection at bay. Our concern is that the tooth really needs to come out,but we dont have the finances for that. We were curious if there was a way to help the root heal itself and so this thread is interesting. Guest guest
Hi Dave I apologize this's older news, I'm just playing catch-up and I thought I'd offer my perspective. My fiancee had a root canal candidate tooth, too...after a year or two of horrible tooth pain, the pain finally stopped and the nerve was pretty much dead. Funny part was, we started seeing a chiropractor once a week and within a couple of months of doing so, my fiancee's tooth (the same one that had stopped hurting ks it died), started to hurt a little bit again. We thought that was kind of odd, but it started to make sense. The brain does supply the rest of the body with neurological impulses. The brain pretty much controls everything. People know this. The nerve passageways through which this communication takes place travel down the spinal cord. (Think of it as wires in your spine, in a way.) If any of the vertebrae in your spine are out of alignment, putting pressure on any of those nerves, the nerve function is cut off and the part of the body the nerve supplies stops receiving from the brain. (It doesn't take much pressure against the nerve to accomplish this; the pressure that a vertebra could exert on a nerve that would be equal to someone placing a quarter on your back would cut off the nerve supply by 80%. I'm not saying it's hazardous to stick a quarter on your back, however. No panicking It's safe to do so because your nerves are encased by your spine.) So by having regular chiropractic adjustments, the nerve in my fiancee's tooth did start to come back. (Many chiro's will try to get you to come in 3 times a week. There IS validity to this, but only for a short time, depending on your case. Don't let them talk you into 3x/wk for, say, a year, unless your case is pretty serious.) Just my thoughts, hope they help. --Jen herbal remedies , Dave <onecorinthians127> wrote: > Just got back from the dentist, I too have a root canal > candidate tooth; the water pik with tooth and gum formula > has worked well in helping the sore gum; I am now trying > the epsom salt rinse to compare. > > The dentist told me there is no way the nerve can be > re-generated but there is something telling me it can. > I do believe in healing miracles and trying to save $1400. > > Anyone have more thoughts on this subject.?? > > Dave in Ohio. Guest guest
Hi Jen, Thank you for your view, I''ve been to a chiropractor for other issues and will keep it in mind. I think in my case this has been a mounting issue of bad hygiene on my part, not flossing regularily, etc...; I have tight spaces in between my teeth and this infection has been slowly getting worse. So now I floss at least 1x daily, take grapefruit seed extract couple times daily, water pik before bedtime with some tea tree oil or tooth + gum formula - (its amazing what comes out of ones mouth after you think its clean) and now also taking colloidal silver (thanks to Janet's advise) Its been a few days and I definitely feel an improvement. Thanks again to everyone who contributed their comments. I think I am on the right road.
