Guest guest
Help I have a Series of Big Fat Warts on Sole of Foot and I have not been able to remove them Have tried nitrogen, Have tried various acids and commercially available paints and even tried trimming them to gradually remove them. Nothing has worked. They are now getting sore and it is time for them to go. Has any one got any ideas, or is it time to go see a foot surgeon and have them surgically removed. All ideas appreciated. Thanks
Guest guest
Plantar warts are pretty difficult to remove. Someone once told me you can put duct tape on them for like a week then take it off and the wart will come off. The other thing to try is salicylic acid (aspirin, true aspirin like Bayer, not Motrin or Tylenol). However, that treatment can take 6-12 weeks to work. It will work tho. My son had one on his foot and the doc gave him a pad (made by Curad) with salicylic acid on it. We would cut a small piece and put it over the wart. It took about 6 weeks for it to turn brown then eventually fall off. I sympathize with you. I had bad plantar warts when I was about 8-9 years old and had to have them scraped off and acid treatments. It was very painful. Now when I see one coming, I immediately use the liquid nitrogen. They are much easier to get rid of when they are small. Good luck!! Michelle Mail is new and improved - Check it out!
Guest guest
There are a couple of remedies I know for warts. The first and best is garlic. Cut a clove of garlic crosswise and place it on the wart and cover. I've found that it works well to do just at night and keep it bandaged during the daytime. I read that it takes quite a while for it to work, but when we used it on my daughter's warts, they were gone in a matter of days. The other remedy is peppermint essential oil. Use a cotton swab to dab a little on the wart and cover. I've used it and it works, but not nearly as well as the garlic. Blessings, New and Improved Mail - Send 10MB messages! Guest guest
I've read that if you cut a piece of garlic and bandage to the site, the garlic will kill the virus that causes the wart. Another book I have says to build up the immune system so as not to be susceptible to warts. The suggestion is to take 3 dessicated liver tablets a day. Guest guest
Maybe this is an old wive's tale, but it worked. I was about 6, and I had warts all over my hands especially my left hand. Maybe five or six all on my fingers. And a few on my right hand. A friend of the family came over, and he said "Let's rub a penny (when they were real copper) on it and bury the penny." Now I was willing to try anything because I was ashamed of my hands. So we did it. We rubbed them thoroughly. Then he said "Now to make them go away, we have to bury the penny to make them go away." So we did. And they were gone within a few weeks. Now that I think about it, I wonder if the copper rub didn't kill them.???
