Guest guest
he missed 20 days of school this year - dont laugh! ;o) I want to boost his immune system. Any suggestions on the basics? I recommend making your own echinacea/cayenne tincture and giving it to him on a regular basis. Two years ago I had a bunch of organic echinacea/cayenne tincture I made. I work with the public and everyday someone walked in the door with some ailment or another and other people got sick right and left. At the very first sign of a scratchy throat or any symptom at all, I took droppersful of echinacea tincture. Within hours all symptoms were gone. I didn't get sick once all winter. Last year I ran out of it and I got sick 6 times. I fell prey to everything that was going around. This is one of the best immune system enhancers I have ever used and it's easy to make. Needless to say, this summer I made enough tincture to last me about 3 years! Gloria
Guest guest
Good afternoon! I am new to the list but am already enjoying it! I need some advice. I have an 8 year old son who seems to pick up every sickness that goes around - he missed 20 days of school this year - dont laugh! ;o) I want to boost his immune system. Any suggestions on the basics? If you could suggest the FIVE most important things you would do to boost immune system, what would those 5 be? I am looking into kefir. I know I have to boost his Vit C. I want to find a GOOD multi (Any suggestions for KIDS? I am considering getting an adult vitamin and cutting it in half - i am NOT impressed with kids vits at all.....) Thanks for any help! Guest guest
Frankly, if he was my son, I'd get the ociliococcunum that I mentioned in the flu post earlier this week or end of last week and give it to him at the beginning of the flu season and half way through. He will very not likely get the flu. Kay Karen [kclark]Friday, August 06, 2004 2:05 PMherbal remedies Subject: Herbal Remedies - Immune system question Good afternoon! Guest guest
Gloria, how much echinacea and how much cayenne is used ? What is the form of each (powder, etc). I bought a pound of organic echinacea purpurea root and a pound of organic echinacea augustiflora from Pacific Botanicals in Oregon. There are also other reputable places to buy it. I made an alcohol based tincture from these roots. (It makes A LOT!). I also bought some VERY hot habanero peppers from the supermarket (and sometimes from a local organic herb farm), and made a tincture from them. The echinacea tincture and habanero tinctures are in separate bottles at this point. I let all of these bottles sit for 2 weeks (at least), shaking them up everyday. I then make the combo tincture, using 6 parts echinacea to one part cayenne (habanero). If you have never made a tincture, it's very easy to do. It's good if you get some amber glass dropper bottles so that you can conveniently carry some tincture with you. Whenever I felt the first signs of any sickness coming on at work etc., I took 2 droppersful right in my mouth. I always made sure I took another 2 droppersful right before bed. I swear it stopped any infection dead in it's tracks! Gloria
