Guest guest
I have read some about poultices for ulcers, but would like more info. I would suggest a poultice of slippery elm which is perfect for this sort of thing. Slippery elm powder mixed with water becomes almost like a glue and will adhere to the affected part very effectively and will stay there until you wash it off. Just mix some slippery elm powder with hot water until thick and gummy and put it all over the ulcerated area. The poultice will draw out any impurities and heal the area. Guest guest
My friend's husband is a diabetic. He has had an ulcer on the ball of his foot for several months. He has to wear a boot like thing to keep the pressure off of the area so it can heal. The healing process has been very slow. Is there any advice that I could give him that could help this situation? I have read some about poultices for ulcers, but would like more info. Your help is greatly appreciated. Sandra

So when foraging for cattails, like most herbs and wild edibles, you want to be well away from freeways and places which cause polutions. I was asked by a friend to gather one for a man with ulcers and is diabetic, so this is how I know. One of the problems which diabetics suffer is poor blood circulation especially in the extremities. Need to correct this flow, to help it out. There are remedies to help clear blockages and others to increase flow. Massages to the areas, get plenty of excersise to help with circulation, proper diet. There are several reasons ulcers develop. One source said if we receive an electrical shock which hasn't grounded and left the body it will emerge eventually as a sore or an ulcer. Another spoke of toxins and the body needs to detoxify. The toxins will leave through sores. It is important to get this corrected. Diet, ecercise, massage, salve, flush toxins, improve circulation and blood flow; have I left anything out? -Brian
