Does anyone know the history behind Total Tonic aka Super Tonic? I mentioned it to someone today and although she never tasted it, she said it sounded like something called Thieve's Tonic. She said during the bubonic plague in Europe, thieves used to break into peoples' house and steal jars of tonic made from onions, garlic, ginger, horseradish and vinegar because it cured the disease. Hmmm....maybe I'd better start locking my doors;-)

Yes I've also heard that little story, but in this version, the brew

was called " Vinegar of the Four Thieves. "

Yes I've also heard that little story, but in this version, the brew

was called "Vinegar of the Four Thieves."

The lady wasn't sure of the exact name of the story, just the gist of how it went. I thought it was interesting. I have read many accounts of how garlic was sought after during the plague, but hadn't heard about the tale of the tonic combo before.

That's how I got my daughter and son-in-law to start taking it.
