Guest guest
Brock has a somewhat large lump on the back of his head that just isn't going away. It's been there for over a week and hasn't gotten smaller or bigger. It's pretty hard. My mom thinks it's a cyst, said my brother had one on his wrist when he was little and thinks that's what it looks like. I thought maybe he bumped his head since he's such a rough and tumble boy he's always getting little injuries. Today he held still long enough for me to look at it real close and it has two little pink marks on it so maybe something bit him. PARENTING! Never boring, is it!!!! Could some one whose had one tell me some characteristics of a cyst?

Guest guest
Any chance that something did bite him? The two little pink marks sound suspicious, but without seeing the bite mark it's hard to say. And if so, perhpas this is what has been causing his nightmares???? Just something to think about. Guest guest
It's pretty hard and BIG not sure what could have bit him to cause it. But yeah, the two pink marks are odd. And it's not going away. It's just stayed the same big ole hard bump. He fell and hit the back of his head right around the time I noticed it.... I just don't know what it is, I don't know why it's not going away. Sadly enough, DH and I had a BIG fight on Friday and Brock's behavior has gotten noticeably worse since (temper tantrums, not listening) and he won't even look at his crib. He even stopped taking naps. I think the nightmares may(?) be from that. Guest guest
Candace, If it is a cyst, it would probably sit below the skin and you would be able to move it with your finger. It does sound like a bite, in which case he may very well be afraid of his crib. If it was a large spider, and he saw it, you can bet that he wouldn't want anything to do with sleeping there. To help him overcome this, let him watch you change his sheets and flip his mattress before bed. Don't mention spiders, bugs or anything else... just let him watch. Keep an eye on it. If I were to recommend anything, it would be to place an onion slice or a poultice of either bentonite clay or slippery elm bark on it to draw out the poisons and treat it with lavender oil to relieve pain. Guest guest
Hi Candace, Any chance that this could have occured just prior to Brock's fevers recently? I remember a suspicion at the time that the fevers were caused by a bite. Maybe you found the evidence finally? Angela already mentioned the bentonite clay. If you have it, I'd recommend the Total Draw Poultice Powder, or even the IC #2 made into a paste. I did that (IC#2) for a bite my daughter had on her leg and it worked wonderfully. Left it on about 15 minutes (that's all she would allow) and did this 3 nights in a row. Guest guest
You can try chickweed, comfrey, or plantain poultices. Also, some say that chickweed tincture can help with cysts both applied to the area if it is external and taken internally. I haven't tried this for myself though. herbal remedies , " Kelli Bever " <kelli@c...> wrote: > Hi Candace, Any chance that this could have occured just prior to Brock's fevers recently? Guest guest
A cat-tail root poultice could draw out infection. -Brian
