Yesterday afternoon I bought the first course in 5 for the Master Herbalist course delivered though Dr. Christopher's School of Natural Healing. Awesome. Can't wait to start it.

Congratulations! You are soooo lucky! I don't have the money for it and I'd LOVE to take that course!!! Meanwhile I study Dr. Christopher's book (excellent) daily and also my library of Dr. Schulze herbal videos and tapes. I'm sucking up any and all knowledge I can get. I joined this group to maybe fine-tune things and even learn more!

Have fun! I looked into his course when I was researching schools for

Master Herbalism. For one reason or another, I decided to go with

Australasian. I have a few months to go, then I will be finished.

I know that gifam is a cheesy school. LOL! I have a friend here who just finished with their courses and knows nothing it seems. The only thing she is somewhat knowledgable about is supplements, which to me is such a small portion of natural health that it seems a waste of $$$$ and time to only learn about supplements. As someone who has learned everything I know about herbalism/natural health from research, you would think that it would be me asking her for information, but it is usually the other way around. LOL

I am taking Herb 401 and they have been wonderful! Someone is always

there to answer your questions and the course is very comprehensive.

Which course were you thinking of taking?

I'm still hem-hawing around about what I will take for sure, but I am leaning towards master herbalist and aromatherapy 201. I have also seriously considered the complete naturopathic course, but I doubt that will the be route I take.

Dear Sandra,

This is the most prestigious herbalist school in all America. It's where Dr. Shultz was pronounced a Dr. and it is where he studied under Dr. Christopher. It is the least infiltrated and changed herbalist program I could find and is designed to create herbalist who can immediately go out and start a business when they complete the entire program.

These courses tell you how to find, use and diagnose everything having to do with herbs. I hope that covers it..

Gloria,

That's exactly how I started as well. Continue what your doing and set aside about $50-$100 each month for the course and you can buy 5ths of it every 1/2 a year. It's fun and they really answer any questions you may have on anything your curious about.

Love,

Very cool. Yea I mainly picked this because of the people it turned out ended up being major players in the herbal industry. I figured they have a product that everyone can see and that I was happy to give that a shot. I looked into Australasian and thought that it was an awesome school. Well done on your progress!

Here is a link to their faculty information. You get assigned

a " tutor " . The person who grades your lessons and who answers your

questions. Mine is Dr. Arianna Staruch, and ND.

http://www.herbed.com/faculty.htm

A good number appear to be ND's. Their reputation is superb though. I

am now a student member of the American Herbalist Guild and they said

once that they have a great relationship with Australasian.

I was torn against Naturopathy and Herbalism too. Since my love has

to do more with the plants, I chose herbalism. I love finding them in

the wild, eating them, making remedies. The program is great though

because you get an understanding of anatomy and medical conditions.

That is a wonderful reason to pick the school. I didn't get far into

researching Dr Christopher's program. There are a good amount of

reputable schools or courses out there (and a good amount of not so

reputable ones that's for sure!)... I think it is a matter of finding

one you click with.

Naturopathy is more than herbs. It takes in homeopathy and acupuncture and on and on and on. All of the natural ways to heal. Message, chiropractic falls under this etc. Diets and such also fall under this.

Herbology is dealing with specific plants and how they are used to help assist healing etc.

At least this is what I think it is.

That is about right. Though if you set up a practice in Herbology,

you need to be well versed in other form of treatments so you can

assist with a lifestyle plan and successfully make referals.
