Guest guest
About a week ago i burnt my leg on the exhaust of my motorcycle. So far i THINK i've learned that Hydrogen Peroxide is good for alot of stuff, but not this, And that plantation leaves don't stick to the wound; (when it has to be covered), but it's best to wear shorts and leave it uncovered. At least that's what i did today and it looks better than this AM and not quite so swollen, not nearly as red/hot, or painful. Is there anything i can do to speed up the healing? It should have/would have BEEN healed by now if i wouldn't have had to learn what not to do first, oh well; when all else fails ask for help/read the instructions, eh? Thanks in advance for any advice/observations, Julie (limping) idiot in Minnesota
Guest guest
Aloe and vitamin E. For the vitamine E you can just split open a capsule and put it on the burn. Peroxide is not as great as they used to think it was. It has a tendency to keep new tissue from growing, if you need something like peroxide I usually use betadine. It doesn’t burn and it is good for wounds, as an antiseptic. But definitely Aloe or vitamin E for your burn. Stacy About a week ago i burnt my leg on the exhaust of my motorcycle. Guest guest
I have done the following for burns. My instance was burning my hand on an iron. I had some sensitivity for about an hour, but never even had a blister. First, run the area under as hot of water as you can stand. Second, use 3-5 pellets of Arnica 30c (homeopathic remedy for trauma). When using a homeopathic, put pellets under the tongue and do not drink nor eat for about 20 minutes before and after taking the remedy. Also, do not touch any other pellets in the bottle so as not to contaminate. The theory of homeopathy is "like cures like". In this case, you have a burn, so the hot water is "like" the burn. Guest guest
I've always used comfrey for burns, straight from the plant. In fact we had a little sparkler mishap the other night and I put a fresh comfrey leaf on it and the next day it was unnoticable. I had to squeeze the leaf stem quite a bit to get the juice out but it did come out. It also comes in salves which I haven't tried yet. You can put the comfrey leaves on it at night if you don't want to cover it during the day. It's best to scrunch them up quite a bit though as they have pricklies on them :-D. Comfrey is good for lots of other things too and grows very easily. I burned my leg the same way about 15-20 years ago and still have the scar. Wish I had known and had comfrey then! HTH. Stung some, but this AM it does look/feel better and i am MOST grateful!!! (And Very Relieved!) I've burned myself many times but never had a problem healing before. Whew. Thanks Again, the generousity in sharing the benefit of your experiences is GREATLY APPRECIATED! Sincerely, Julie

Guest guest
Aloe does the trick for me. Guest guest
Yes, you can buy the homeopathic remedies at a health store. Not all carry the 30c. The 6x or 30x may work also; they are just a weaker dilution of the remedy. You only need to take the 30c once or twice in a day, whereas the lesser amounts would be taken more often in a day. When I pulled the ligament in my knee (trauma), I took Arnica 30c once a day till no longer needed. The symptom that I noticed in this instance was that never once did my knee swell up, and I never used an ice pack either. The blood that came to the knee site was used for healing, and not "turned away" with an ice pack; thus allowing faster healing.
