Guest guest
My question though is don't you think that we really just need Bush out of office right now? Do you think this is the year to get a third party on the ballot? Elizabeth - Doc Shillington herbal remedies Wednesday, June 30, 2004 5:40 PM Re: Herbal Remedies - Suzi Banned Not bad, but where are the ones on Kerry??????? He's just as bad off as Bush is, but without the funding Bush has. I would never consider voting anything but Libertarian this coming election. Read my original article. The Democraps are in on this Psych issue as well. Albeit, Kerry may be the lesser of evils, but why chose any evil at all. As far as I'm concerned the only ethical / survival choice this coming election is Libertarian. Guest guest
But isn't the excuse every election? Sure bush needs to be out, but I'm not voting for Kerry either. To be honest, I'm not sure who I'm voting for - just who I'm not voting for. Guest guest
Doc, Sorry you had to deal with that. My jaw dropped when I read Suzi's email. I'm all for speaking my mind, even occaisonally stepping on a few toes, however, blatanty picking a fight is another thing entirely. Here's to hoping today is a better day for you. Tammi - Doc Shillington herbal remedies Cc: Suzanne Nottmeier Tuesday, June 29, 2004 9:24 PM Herbal Remedies - Suzi Banned Yes! I did start the thread, but you'll also notice I FLAMED no one. Not once did I make less of them personally as you have done with this spiteful communication directed at me made openly to the list. In the past, whenever I've ever had a "personal" beef with you, I've handled it off list with you and never made it public. You say you're my friend??? Then why do I feel slimed??? Since you started with the "draft", let's begin there. Did you know that the Draft is in direct violation of the US Constitution??? Oh yes, it violates the 13th Amendment and there has been many a debate over this. "What???", you say, "You mean I can't be indentured without my permission???". I suggest you read it. I have done so, plus I've read the entire US Constitution, The Declaration of Independence, and The Bill of Rights. I wonder how many so called "citizens" can claim that??? Just curious!!! Also, fighting for Bush and the Oil Magnates and the International Bankers is NOT the same thing as fighting for America. You can bet your bottom dollar that if America was truly being invaded that I'd be the first one there with my arsenal. But America is not being invaded!!! It is doing the INVADING!!! And I refuse to support another's greedy, inhumane agenda. I do believe that I have a right to pick my own fights, my own causes, and that I have the right of free speech to utter upon the opinions of others in this area. This one is called the 1st Amendment. You cast a slur on draft dodgers running to Canada knowing full well that I am a Canadian making it sound as if this is criminal in itself, and yet is was Canada who hid 14 American diplomats in its Iranian Consulate during that conflict. I remember this well because the borders were thrown open for a week and any Canadian wandering across the border was offered his hearts content in as much beer as he could handle, and Canadians can handle an awful lot of beer. For your info, the US / Canadian border is the oldest, undefended border in the history of the world. You then have the nerve to FLAME me with, "Doc, I don't see where you have the right to voice an opinion on the politics of this country when you not even a citizen of this country... " And does this then mean that when Bush passes this psychotic law that forces you, me, my wife and my children to go before a board of Psychiatrists to determine our sanity and then to "label us" that I have no right whatsoever to voice an opinion??????? Over my dead body and from my cold dead fingers girl!!!!!!! I may reap the benefits of this country but I also pay my share of the taxes and have never shirked in doing so. I also love this country very passionately and you seem to have conveniently forgotten that I defended it against that Aussie who was attacking Americans on our list a little over a year ago. Your memory is conveniently short when it suits you, in order to levy this vicious attack against me. I started the political thread, but you started this little Flame War between us regardless of the fact that I'm going to finish it terminatedly. And yes! Your attack below is vicious and it is personal!!!! You also say, "If you love it, you work to make changes, if all you want to do is complain, then leave it..." Why in hell do you think I even brought up this subject which violates the policies of this list??? Isn't it obvious that I'm trying to get people to send in their protests to this heinous action??? Isn't it obvious I'm trying to get others to vote against Bush and his insane policies??? Isn't it obvious I'm trying to effect "changes"??? And who said anything about "just complaining"??? I offered the solutions of writing to legislators, and to voting Bush out of office. Is this not "doing" something about it??? And then your comments on "foreigners" and "manger scenes" is nothing more than the veiled racial and religious slurs of a bigot that are beneath contempt. I opened the "political" pandora's box, but said nothing about going into the ethnic or religious arena so you're out of line and off policy there as well. If our forefathers are rolling over in their graves, it's because of such bigotted attitudes. Personally, I have not been so insulted nor flamed in ages as you have done with this post. You didn't debate what I wrote - you attacked me personally. And regardless of the fact that this is off policy for this list and a banning offence, I wouldn't tolerate that from anyone in any forum under any circumstances. You're banned from Herbal Remedies for violations of the "Flaming Policy" and the "Ethnic / Religious Policy". If you come to your senses and want to talk this out, then send me a personal comm and we'll hash this out. Until then I'll entrust my back to a true friend after they've taken out the knife you put in there. "Yep, it's a grand place to live, but God forbid I have to fight for it.." I have my rights,,,, freedom of the press, freedom of speech, freedom to choose the life I want to live, who and how I want to worship, and on and on... but me do something for my country???? We may not agree with the decisions our leaders make, but this is America, a democracy, we vote, we back our leaders....if we don't like it we work to make a change, but we don't run off when things get toughrwas wrong, but we Americans were as much to blame for the way we treated our fellow americans who came home for "serving their country" - they serve because they are citizens of this country.. if they don't want to serve, then go elsewhere... and Doc, I don't see where you have the right to voice an opinion on the politics of this country when you not even a citizen of this country... You reap the benefits of the country but you are not a citizen...???? There are alot of things I don't agree with in this country, but this is MY country, and I do feel strongly about "LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT" ... If you love it, you work to make changes, if all you want to do is complain, then leave it... I'm tired of all the foreigners who come to America and can't or won't speak the English language... I'm tired of all the foreigners who have gotten us to the point that we can't say the Pledge of Allegience in school, that we can't put a manger scene in the yard of a public bldg... This country was founded "under God"...... I'll bet our fore fathers are rolling in their graves... I do not like some of the politics going on in our nation, and I will work by writing and voicing my opinion, but if our elected leaders decide to hold a draft, I'm not going running to another country either... I'll put my faith in God to get me thru it... We have many freedoms in this country that are not allowed elsewhere... Value that... If you don't like what is happening, you have a voice... this is not a dictatorship.... I think people forget how much they have here, and forget that it takes work to keep it and change it.I'm sorry, our country is not perfect, but it's alot better than alot of other places... If you want change, you gotta work for it. Do you help campaign for the person you want in office? Or do you just sit idly by complaining, doing nothing?????? Guest guest
I was wondering how that situation is going. I might have misread it, but I thought she wasn't going after you only, but after those who had the stance she was refuting. In that case I've done some really "hot" e-mails that could have looked like I was flaming that person, but in reality I was talking about those who share that stance. It was about a year ago and the vaccine debate was going hot with both barrels. I would like to give Suzi a chance to explain herself, if only out of curiosity as to what exactly she was trying to accomplish. I do think however, that she does owe you an apology for the citizen thing, that was directed at you. -Shelby Tammi Upshaw [wundrbee]Thursday, July 01, 2004 10:24 AMherbal remedies Subject: Re: Herbal Remedies - Suzi Banned Doc, Sorry you had to deal with that. Guest guest
Many thanks for the back-up Cheryl, and I especially agree with what you said about the "spreading of hate". The world is getting too big to allow hatred and bigotry to rule. We need to learn love and tolerance. Love, Doc Ian "Doc" Shillington N.D.727-738-0554DocShillington - Cheryl herbal remedies Wednesday, June 30, 2004 9:55 AM Herbal Remedies - Re: Suzi Banned Gotta agree with Doc, here again. Seldom so I read such venom in a post on a forum! Since when does anyone not have the right to voice their opinion on a country and how it is run? We all do it about countries other than the US everyday, and that includes Suze, I am sure. As someone who has chosen to make the US his home and who has a better understanding of how this country works than most who were born here, I believe Doc has as much right to speak his mind as anyone. The comment about Foreigners and Manger scenes was appalling to me, in another way laughable, as I am half Seneca Indian. Such bigotry and racist comments have no place anywhere and accomplish nothing more than to spread hate. It strikes me funny that when someone brings an issue to the attention of the people with the intent to make them aware of it and encourage them to do something about it, they are accused of "whining". How else are we to make others aware of such things if not verbally or in print on just such a forum? Big difference between making people aware of an issue and complaining. Those who possess a dissenting opinion are usually accused of complaining. I also have yet to figure out why someone assumes that if you are vocal about an issue, you must just be paying lip service and not doing anything about it. I was not aware that discussion and action were mutually exempt! I am sorry to "let 'er rip" here but this type of Flame just ticks me off, no matter where it happens. It is just a shame that when someone has a difference of opinion, they cannot handle it without such a personal attack or without making it public.Cheryl

Dr Stockwell has sure turned me into a Libertarian in the year or so I've listened to him. He's great at bringing it down to where I can understand the particulars of it all.
