The company I got it from put an ice pack in the box with it and it says "keep refrigerated at all times". When it got here today the ice pack was completely melted and it was barely cool. The oil was warm. I went camping this weekend so there's a possibility it's been at the PO since Saturday. Is UDOs one of those things that can be left out for a little while without going bad or should I throw it out? You think it would smell or anything if it was bad? Guest guest Posted June 28, 2004 Report Share Posted June 28, 2004 Candace it should be fine. I got mine dry (no ice or other type of cooling pack) direct from the distributo and it was fine. Just make sure once you keep it in the fridge from now on, expecially once you open it. The issue with keeping it cool or refridgerated is so that it will not go rancid. Haaaaaaaaaa Just kidding, I asked the same question not too long ago when a conversation was had about it and I'd never heard of it..... It's an oil blend. My bottle says "Contains 250 ml each of: Flax oil, sunflower oil, sesame oil, coconut oil, evening primrose oil, rice germ & bran oil, soy lecithin, oat germ & bran oil, tocotrienols" Not sure what soy lecithin or tocotrienols is, but it's certified organic so it must not bee something too bad!!! I do not order Udo's oil for my store for the same reason that you have just become aware of. The company cannot guarantee the oil will arrive cold. There are many other brands that also have the same formula of 3-6-9 oils, these in include spectrum and enzymatic therapy. I would not use any oil-based product that has been left out in temps higher than 85 degrees for more than a couple of hours. I don't think it ever came close to seeing 85 degree temps.
