Guest guest
My son is 11 as I am sure you all know by now...lol. I just wondered if I should give him IC#1 or if I should give him the #3 which is the kid version. He is one of those of you who only has a bowel movement once a week or so. I would like to get him a little more regular at least and wondered which of these to give him? Caroline
Guest guest
You know, I heard a kineseolgist (sp?) speak the other day about nutrition and he brought up a very good point. He said that in his patients whom he puts on a cleansing program and healthy diet he has seen a decline in the need to eliminate waste. His thoughts on the matter were that if your eating a completely balanced and healthy diet for your body and your bowels are working optimally and absorbing everything they are supposed to that there isn’t that much waste to be eliminated. He found his clients coming to him because they were “constipated” until he mentioned this and they realized that it wasn’t that they felt constipated, they just didn’t feel the need to eliminate. I don’t know where your 11 year old is in terms of healthy diet but that could be one reason he’s like that. He’s burning everything that goes in. Not much to come out. Just a thought. It seemed to make sense. Liz Caroline [ladyguinevere] Saturday, June 19, 2004 2:18 PM To: herbal_Remedies Herbal Remedies - question about IC#1 My son is 11 as I am sure you all know by now...lol. Guest guest
Hmmm, I don't know if I agree with this or not. I do understand the thought, and it's interesting, but I think that if you're eating a lot of raw fruits and veggies, then there will be a lot of the bulk or fiber material that needs to be eliminated, no? Fruits and veggies are very high in vitamins and minerals, especially raw, but they are plants and there is a lot of other material there as well.... Anyway, these are just my thoughts on it. :)Kelli fyrespryte [fyrespryte] Saturday, June 19, 2004 7:36 PMherbal remedies Subject: RE: Herbal Remedies - question about IC#1 You know, I heard a kineseolgist (sp?) speak the other day about nutrition and he brought up a very good point. Guest guest
Hi Caroline, I would think that 11 yrs old is old enough for IC #1, especially if he's only going once per week. Another option would be for you to use smaller caps for the IC #1 so he's not getting a full dose. Might be easier on him to start that way. :)Kelli Caroline [ladyguinevere] Saturday, June 19, 2004 11:18 AMherbal_Remedies Subject: Herbal Remedies - question about IC#1 My son is 11 as I am sure you all know by now...lol. Guest guest
Kelli, Thanks...that is a great idea. I will do that and see how it works. Smaller caps never occurred to me...sheesh. Also, just out of curiosity really, is there a reason why this one is encapsulated and the others are not? Is this one especially awful tasting or something? lol - Kelli Bever herbal remedies Monday, June 21, 2004 12:54 PM RE: Herbal Remedies - question about IC#1 Hi Caroline, I would think that 11 yrs old is old enough for IC #1, especially if he's only going once per week. Guest guest
Hi Caroline, I think there is a reason this one is encapsulated, but I forget right now. It does smell particularly nasty, even through the caps (in my opinion) and if it breaks open in your mouth before swallowing - WHEWW!!! I think it's just best that they bust open in my gut because that's where they need to work anyway. Let me know how this works with your son. Best of luck! Guest guest
I figured there must be a reason why it is encapsulated...I just wondered if anyone knew why. I have no problem putting them into capsules. As far as getting in my son...I have to finish getting the ingredients...waiting on an order to get in at my HFS with the rest of the stuff. Thanks! Guest guest
I remember reading in one of Dr. Schulze's articles that when he spent time in "uncivilized" cultures that grew their own food and ate healthy they all pooped 1/2 hour after each meal like clockwork. And they exercise and work each day so they burn lots of it off. But they still poo a lot.
