NatraBio makes a great homeopathic product...can't remember the exact name.

Mistletoe also helps with addictions and cravings.chanted2000 <chanted2000 wrote:

Congrats on your decision to quit! Trust me, you CAN do this. It ain't

easy, but it can be done, and you're gonna feel SO much better and

cleaner when you do.

Some suggestions--though they're not necessarily herbal, they may help

anyway.

1) Pick up the book " Prescriptions for Nutritional Healing " by Phyllis

Balch. They discuss vitamins and minerals from A to Z in the first

section, ailments from A to Z make up the bulk of the book, and they

talk about ALL KINDS of different natural therapies in the back. A

MUST have, it has already helped me change my LIFE.

2) I read an article (and I have a photocopy of it, but no scanner) :(

about a dietary yin-yang continuum chart. The left side was yin and

the right side was yang, with neutral in the middle (and the further

to one side you went, the more yin or yang you got). The middle two

columns were things like whole grains and vegetables (grains=sprouted,

and veggies=fresh & raw). Further yin were fruits and honey and

further yang were animal fleshes and nuts/seeds. The outermost columns

(which they said to AVOID at all costs were things like refined sugar,

chocolate, alcohol, tobacco, nicotine (guess that goes with tobacco,

but they mentioned it separately), and prescription & OTC drugs. Those

items in the outermost columns were to be avoided because they swing

the body SO far yin or SO far yang that it has a toxic effect.

The premise was this: the body wants to be neutral. It's always

trying to find a balance (homeostasis). Here in the west, we eat LOTS

of far-yin or far-yang foods. This creates cravings for the other

side. This's why many ppl who eat LOTS of meat are also alcoholics or

addicted to sugar. This's also why many ppl who smoke also drink and

vice versa. It's ks drinking is extremely yin and smoking is extremely

yang.

So what does this mean to you? You'll lessen your cravings and bring

yourself back into balance by eating veggies & whole grains, and

staying away from sugars, alcohol, and keeping things like chicken,

fish, and fruits in strict moderation.

A craving for any one thing means your body is out of balance and can

be eased if you stick to the middle of the road (veggies & whole

grains). NOTE: REFINED GRAINS DON'T COUNT. :) Neither do veggies

cooked such that they wilt, or ANYTHING in a microwave.

Just my experience, and it worked well for me. :)

Good luck!!! We're behind you!

The other herb in Doc's "huff 'n puff" formula is mullein. The two together should help a lot with this whole process.

Good luck!! :)Kelli
