Hello group. My name is Judi, I live in NH, and have two children,

Oliver, age 5 who has down syndrome, and Benjamin, age 2 whom we

adopted from haiti. I have never used any kind of natural healing

before, and this is all new to me. The reason I am investigating it

is because my son Oliver is scheduled to have his (very large)

tonsils out on June 23rd, and I have JUST recently been told that

there may be another way to deal with this, besides surgery. He does

not have trouble with sore throats (that we know of) but the large

tonsils interfere with his sleep and also cause him to choke very

easily when he is eating. That is why the decision was made to have

them removed. Is there something else we could do to reduce the size

of his tonsils, without having them surgically removed? I am truly

dreading the experience of surgery, just feeling so awful for him for

all the pain he will be in. But everyone keeps telling me it will be

worth it, because he will be much more comfortable, and get better

quality of sleep, and be able to eat more safely, after they are out.

I want these things for him, but I dread the pain and trauma of the

surgery. Can anyone share with me an alternative? I would be deeply

grateful. Thank you.

Judi

I don't know if this would even apply to your son or not. When one of ours was 4 she had that problem. She gagged very easily.Like yours, there was no history of illness. I took her to an Ear and throat dr.He told me that if I really wanted him to he would operate. However, starting at around age 5 and definately by 7 the tonsils start to strink. He said unless the gagging and choking is life threatening he advices to wait it out. We did. She is 8 and guess what. Her tonsils are very small.Over the next two years from age 4 the gagging became less and less and then one day we thought about the fact that she just didn't do it anymore! Anyway, that is my story!

Dear Judi,

You are a very responsible mother to check out alternatives as you are. Well Done Hon! Yes there are alternatives. Yes the Tonsils have a purpose just like our leg and heart etc. Swollen means the body is saying, "something wrong here in the throat". Removing them simply takes the warning out of the body but does not handle WHY they swelled up in the first place. Get Doc's tape. Postpone the surgery until you have conclusive data that that IS the best way.

Why do some people need their tonsils out? Do the medical doctors truly understand what the tonsils jobs are? Why is it then OK to remove them. If some other part of the body can handle what the tonsils handle can it overload that other part of the body causing other problems in the future? Ask the doctor if he wants his bits and pieces taken off and see how he reacts. LOL. We should not remove parts of our bodies. Just get them healed is all.

Awesome mothering love. Keep up the good work and know that your boy is lucky to have a mother who is aware of things that don't add up.

Love,

Zeb

Get doc's tape. Then talk to doc for free. Change your diet. It is a lot of work, but well worth it.
