Guest guest
The two things that jumped out at me where 1) the terramycin, which I thought was a synthetic antibiotic, and 2) the oderless garlic. The terramycin would cause problems with your little ones flora in her digestive tract, at the least, killing both the good and the bad bacteria. Being synthetic (as I think it is) who knows what else it could cause problems with. The garlic, if it was fresh and prepared properly, would do the same job, but would be less harmful to the good bacteria in there. The garlic, from what I have learned, needs to smell to indicate the presence of the enzyme called allinase which is released when garlic is crushed or cut and then rapidly converts the odorless compound allin into allicin bearing the typical odor of garlic. The allicin is what contians all those wonderful sulfur compounds which yeild the healing properties of garlic. Usually when garlic is processed for use in capsules, or other easy to take formulas, the allicin is lost, rendering the product much less potent. My little girl had a lot of trouble with constipation when she was Nyah's age, too. It turned out that she ate too much cheese, which can be constipating in large quantities (she was a cheese-aholic). If you have a dog or cat (or a human for that matter) who's stool is loose, feed him some cheese, see what happens! From what I understand, the cheese has beneficial bacteria, much as yogurt has, and loose stools often indicate bad bacteria overload in the gut. The good guys will eat off the bad guys, but there has to be more of them than the bad to keep things in balance and working well. But, too much of a good thing can backfire, too. So, for my little girl, I balanced it out with more fruits and greens, and nursed her a bit more frequently, she did much better. Please correct me if I am wrong, I am still new to a lot of this. Guys what is your input on this? Kim S.
