Guest guest
I have heard great things about the clicker training idea, but I have reservations. The only thing about it, from what I understand, is that you would depend on the clicker. You teach the animal to respond to a sound, not necessarily to you. If you don't have the clicker with you, you may not get a response. My goal with horses and dogs has always been to get them to the point were they interact and respond to you so well that you can work with them without any equipment what so ever (yes, even saddle and bride less on horses~I've done it many times). It is the greatest sense of achievement when you get your communication and respect with an animal to that level. Kim S.
Guest guest
I got to thinking about this Kim and I also wanted to point out something else. When you use the clicker you're ONLY using it to establish NEW behaviors. So, after the behavior is established, you're no longer depending on the clicker (or any other type of marker).
