Guest guest
I finally got all of the rest of the ingredients for my TN. I mixed some up in some juice for my son yesterday and all he could say is YUCK!! lol I didn't care for it too much but I just kind of mixed it up in my juice so it was kind of icky. Today, however, I found my little hand mixer thingie...and I put it in a cup and added my TT, huff n puff along with some Echinacea and mixed it up with my little mixer. It still smells like grass...but it is better tasting, that's for sure! It is much smoother this way. The real problem my son had with it was the texture, which came from just jiggling it around with a spoon. I am finding though, that if I put a bunch of ice into my glass of juice and TN it is better this way. I know that Dragon Snot is the best way to drink it, but the idea of raw eggs just turns my stomach and I have enough of the smell of this turning my stomach I figure I have to give myself a chance to get used to it first before going to raw eggs. Are there any other ideas on making this better tasting? Or easier to get down, especially for a child? Thanks! Caroline
Guest guest
Hi Caroline, I drink my TN just stirred with a spoon, minus the egg, myself. Those that do the egg (including my husband) have said that it doesn't really change the flavor, but makes it "frothier" and "smoother". Gotta mix it in a blender or some such though. Also, others have mentioned adding frozen berries. My husband adds banana to his. These will change the texture and make it more of a "green smoothie" for you and your son. :)Kelli Caroline [ladyguinevere] Wednesday, June 09, 2004 8:59 AMherbal_Remedies Subject: Herbal Remedies - Total Nutrition I finally got all of the rest of the ingredients for my TN. Guest guest
Kelli, Well that is the problem I have and why the egg makes me sick thinking about it...I have texture issues when it comes to the food I eat. Any strange textures and I tend to gag...lol. That is what scares me the most about the egg. I tried the frozen berries yesterday morning...and to both of us that was even more disgusting and I ended up throwing that out....lol. I am going to try a suggestion given to me to add some kind of sweetener to the mix. See how that one goes over. Any other thoughts are more than welcome though!!! Guest guest
I could not drink mine with the egg either. In fact i could barely handle drinking it at all without gagging and even tried encapulating it, until i found it is not so beneficial that way What i found worked best, was to mix the TN with straight Apple juice using the minimal amount to make it liquid rather than thick adding the udo's and then cannon-balling it. I had the balance of the juice sitting by and would chase that down so that i didnt have time to dwell on the thickness and Taste. I ofund i could handle the egg in straight Apple juice later (blended). It's kind of like an orange Julius. I dont think sweetner is really going to help, you really cant sweeten " green " . Guest guest
Waymon, Well I used 1/2 cup as my 1 part...which of course made the 1.5 parts 3/4 of a cup and the nutritional yeast 2 1/2 cups each. This gave me a total of 12 cups for the whole batch (I think that is correct! lol). I put it in a gallon sized glass jug and it is about 3/4 full. The total cost for the ingredents I would say ran me about $50 total. I luckily found a store that I could buy just what I needed instead of having to purchase the whole pound of things and such...and I know I can go back there when I am finished with this batch and just get the same quantities of each item. I don't know how long this will last, but it sure seems like it will last a couple of months as it is a pretty large amount. Hope this helps! Guest guest
No, no, No...you have to add enough Apple juice so it is not sludgy, but not so much that you have to drink more...does that make sense? I'd rather drink 4 oz of drink that i dont like than drinking 8oz. so if 4 oz of the apple juice is enough to get it down, then that is all i would use and chase the taste with the balance of the juice. You know, like a following a spoonful of yucky medicine with water or juice. Sylvia herbal remedies , " Candace Podratz " <CandaceAndBrock@w...> wrote: > Eeeeew, so you actually drink the TT sludge? Guest guest
Caroline, if you can, try taking less water until you drink the TN drink.
