belching - help!

I know there are things which I eat which set me to belching (and I

mean belching!), and it's a painful belch as well. I have been

avoiding the foods, but now and then something new will set if off.

Is there some way to counteract this for at least some symptomatic

relief? Sometimes just sodium bicarb will help, but in this case it

doesn't, or not very well or for very long. I'm assuming my

digestive system is too acidic??

Thanks

Dear Andrea, I too have had that problem and I believe you are correct about

being too acidic. I use a half of a fresh lemon squeezed into a glass of water 2

times a day. The other half of the lemon I use to clean the sink and counters as

I've heard that once the air gets to the left over lemon it losses it's effect.

Oh I use a straw to drink the lemon water so it doesn't get on my teeth.

Otherwise I try to stay away from acidic foods and if I am eating them I eat 80%

alkaline foods with 20% acidic foods to help counteract the acidity.

I hope this helps.
