Guest guest
It probably sounds strange, but meditation works to get past the pain. I had had bouts of abdomen pain over the years (doctors never figured out a cause) that would keep me doubled-over and sometimes short of breath. If I had to get from point A to point B, standing up straight was much too painful. Then, I read about Buddhist mindfulness and Vipassana Meditation and decided to give it a try for reasons having nothing to do with the pain. However, part of getting past the pain of sitting still for any length of time (the legs can begin to ache), one must separate from the pain, so to speak, and not see it as " my " pain. Shortly after beginning to practice Vipassana, I had another episode of abdomen pain. I'd never taken any pain killers for it; rather, just dealt with it the best I could. But, that time, I decided to meditate, focus on the breath, and see if it would help ease the pain any at all. I was really surprised at how well it worked! During meditation, the pain was minimized greatly and after the meditation, I was able to continue to focus on the breath enough that the pain was bearable and I could go about daily activities. Don't get me wrong--it doesn't prevent the pain from occurring nor does it erase the pain; rather, it simply makes it easier to deal with. Vipassana doesn't require any particular tools or equipment. All you need is a place to sit and focus on the breath. Focusing on the breath, to the exclusion of other thoughts, however, is a bit more difficult than it sounds and does require some practice. Guest guest
In addition, eliminate dairy products and other mucus forming foods from your diet. Have Evening Primrose. Apply hot castor oil packs on your abdomen. I have fibroids and they are shrinking. I also have ovarian cysts, but so far I couldn't get rid of them. I keep trying. Rena - danigreene89 Sunday, April 26, 2009 9:07 PM Fibroid Tumors I have recently been diagnosed with uterine fibroid tumors. I am a recovering addict and don't like the way a lot of the pain pills make me feel. Does anyone have any suggestions as to alternative ways to deal with the daily, sometimes disabling pain? Guest guest
DLPA [DL-phenylalanine] There is some evidence that DLPA can help to relieve certain types of chronic pain, including muscle aches and persistent arthritis-related pain. The supplement appears to stymie the actions of a pain-inducing protein called enkephalinase. Some scientists speculate that DLPA also helps by boosting the effectiveness of narcotics and other pain medications you might take.75% of the time it works as well as morphine. Interestingly, the combination of DLPA and St. John's wort performs similarly to the newer, long-acting prescription Antidepressant, Effexor-XR. Like that drug, the supplement-herb combo raises levels of at least two mood-elevating brain chemicals: norepinephrine (from the DLPA) and Serotonin (from St. John's wort) For chronic pain the usual dose is about 3 grams per day taken on an empty stomach until pain is gone .. Once management is achieved modulate at about 500mg per day. Some proponents believe that DLPA may be a more effective pain reliever when combined with GABA (gamma aminobutyric acid), a sedating amino acid that blocks pain signals in the brain DL-Phenylalanine is as effective in relieving pain as morphine…and does not have…the dangerous side effects…It also has the ability to potentiate opiates so that if you are taking morphine you can boost its effectiveness by also taking DL-Phenylalanine. " Jonathan Chamberlain (2008). Look for formulations that contain both the " D " and " L " forms of the amino acid phenylalanine. This combination is less likely to lead to high blood pressure than using the natural " L " form alone. If you have high blood pressure, start with very low amounts, such as 100 mg a day. Increase the dose slowly and only under a doctor's supervision. Re-Lev-It Anti-inflammatory *Re-Lev-It anti-inflammatory; contains curcumin; Dr. Donsbach claimed that it usually gets patients off morphine. Tramadol (Ultram) requires prescription; endorsed by LEF.org as the pain med of choice for cancer patients does not depress the immune system, instead increasing natural killer cell activity. ULTRAM® ER (tramadol HCl) Extended-Release Tablets are indicated for the management of moderate to moderately severe chronic pain in adults who require around-the-clock treatment of their pain for an extended period of time. Castor Oil has been used through out the ages as a natural therapy. Castor oil applied externally in the form of " packs " is very popular with natural health practitioners. The Edgar Cayce Readings inform us that castor oil packs are to be used to improve assimilations, eliminations and circulation; especially of the lymphatic system. A castor oil pack is made from several layers of flannel like material, enough to absorb and hold the castor oil during application. The flannel material is wool, cotton or the newly designed disposable pack, each of which you will need to saturate with cold-pressed castor oil before using.
