Guest guest
Hi, all! I just received a package of bee pollen that is in little pellets. Does this mean it's old or has absorbed moisture? I was taught that bee pollen should be a golden color in a powdery state, but I don't know why. Any help is greatly appreciated. On an unrelated side note, I have discovered gray hairs in my 7-yo daughter's head. Is there any chance this is evidence of a nutritional deficiency? Thanks much! pamela

You will probably see that the 'pellets' are all slightly different in size. When bees collect pollen they carry it in pouches on their legs, (you will have seen them flying with it I'm sure). To collect it a mesh is placed inside the doorway of the hive and as the bee flies in to the hive, the pollen is scraped of its legs because of the size of the mesh! The colour varies according to the plants that the bee has visited, from pale pale yellow or green to almost black! It keeps well, best in an airtight jar in the cool and dry Regatrds Ann - Scotland
Guest guest
Bee Pollen is great stuff, IMO. It's probably better than a regular vitamin/mineral supplement as it also has several enzymes that our bodies' need and typically don't get. It's considered a 'food' because of all the nutrition in it. Taking Bee Pollen typically helps the person with seasonal allergies also, and it helps boost the immune system. It also helps give you energy. Some people are allergic to Bee Pollen, however, so you have to be a little careful when starting out on it. When I started taking it several years ago, I took 1 capsule per day for a few days, and worked my way up to 3 per day. That " seemed " right for me. It takes some experimentation, just like with everything else. :-) HTH~ Jan G. SAHM of 8, doula, breastfeeding advocate

Guest guest
Thanks Mary, Maybe the dieing of the honeybee population is on purpose. It seems " they " are trying to kill us with pharmaceuticals, but killing off the honeybees will accelerate the process. I once heard that Albert Einstein said that people would cease to exist within fours years after the total collapse of the honeybee population. This isn't a group for conspiracy though:) Jay oleander soup , " Maria Stathopoulos " <mary1kon wrote: > > Here is an overall therapy, for many ailments in one. bee pollen > > Hugs Mary http://www.alternativescentral.com/beepollen.htm >

Guest guest
Hello, How much bee pollen do you take everyday? Do you take it with meals? Does it have to be local? Thanks, Christine
Guest guest
I always use it as a food, not as a medicine. In food, you have to be content, no greed at all. I mix 30 gms with a kilogram of pure honey And whenever I use honey, pollen goes with it. It covers all use for maintenance and cure. Guest guest
Most beekeepers I know recommend 1/4-1tsp per day. Most say after " working up " to the dose 1/4 is sufficient as maintenance. Because it can trigger allergies in large doses, it is suggested that you start with a few grains at a time and slowly add, until you reach the daily dose. If used correctly, even people with bee allergies can use it. It does not have to be local, any pollen has benefits, however using local will better combat your local allergens. Most people I know add it to beverages and food, some eat it by itself but it is chalky and bitter.
