Guest guest
Hi Lisa, You didn't say what you wanted MSM for. A thumb nail of MSM is this. It is 34% biologically active sulfur. It is usually used in people and animals for pain. Mainly for arthritis but also for chronic muscle pain. Some other uses are for RA and other autoimmune diseases. MSM works better when it is combined with Vitamin C. Hope this helps, JamesLisa Fisher <malica98 wrote: Hi,I tried to search the archives for what MSM does, but too many messages come up unrelated. Guest guest
Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any input on MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane)? I'm reading up on it for help with allergies and asthma. Thanks, Genevive
Guest guest
I have used it for several months with my animals for their allergies. It has helped them tremendously. I take it, but not so much for allergies . . ..I do think it has helped me, but I need to take it more regularly to be sure. Guest guest
Irene, how did MSM help with your animals allergies? I have a beautiful cat who has had alergic reactions since she was born. Her litter mate and sister, has never had any issues, and we have another cat, who has also not had any problems. Rosie, however, sometimes scratches off her fur in small patches, she has always had digestion issues and I was wondering if MSM could help? Thanks, Anna Anna White Ferraraccio, MA, LMT Anthony L. Guest guest
Anna, I used MSM with my bird and dog. The dog had yeast problems so did a lot of scratching. She had bald areas in several places. I treated the yeast with " natural " remedies. I used the MSM to help with hair growth and the itches. It does seem to help. If you decide to use MSM, start with a small amount and increase slowly. I notice it will cause " gas " if introduced too quickly. I'm still using it and will probably always use it a few times/week with both dog and bird. I think what was diagnosed as " allergies " was probably caused by yeast. I also have both dog and bird on a restrictive diet. I would suggest with the cat to avoid all grains. My dog cannot eat any foods with grains. Guest guest
Irene, thanks for this post. My dog has similar issues and I've recently started wondering if it is a yeast problem. Would you mind sharing what brand/items your dog eats? Thanks, Gina , Irene <imclark09 wrote: > > Anna, > > I used MSM with my bird and dog. The dog had yeast problems so did a lot of > scratching. Guest guest
I been taking it religiously for ten plus years...not for alergies but other things....I will suggest a name brand, and be careful where you buy the stuff if you get it over the counter..I've horror stories of people finding it " cut " with silicone from some of the big name stores...you might send these guys and email and ask'em about alergies: http://www.richdistributing.com/ --- On Fri, 3/13/09, Irene <imclark09 wrote: Irene <imclark09 Re: MSM?
