Studies in the use of floatation therapy or REST (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique) in relation to creativity from the Journal of Environmental Psychology show that by using the popular therapy, subjects were more able to access the creative centers of the brain. " Floating is associated with increased vigor and a reduction in depression, confusion, hostility and fatigue. These combined findings reinforce the suggestion provided above that flotation isolation may be a priming environment producing a relaxed but alert state which may set the stage for creativity benefit.
