i have a friend who has been on effexor 37.5 mg. for about a year.

she wants to go off of it completely.( she was put on it for peri-

menopausal symptoms) she was reading some websites and is freaked out

by how horrible some of the side effects are supposed to be by going

off. does anyone have any info or help with this? i told her this

group she should join as there are always a multitude of answers on

everything!. i love this group! annie

as the warning states... do not stop the drug cold turkey!... that is what

causes very serious side effects!... the patient needs to be weaned off the drug

for several months...

i take this anti-depressant. it is the only one that has worked for me. i

wish i didnt have to take meds at all. i went on and off them for years. now my

medical insurance has been cancelled, i'm not sure what to do... i would like

to find something natural to help...

Annie,

I weaned off effexor.. I weaned very slowly, by opening up the capsule and

cutting it down in small amounts. Till I was only taking 1 of those darn

little pills inside.
