My mom read somewhere to use Milk of Magnesia for acne. I think you put it on

like a mask, leave it on and wash off as needed for preventative. You could

also dab it on the sores individually as they occur.

Mind you I haven't actually tried it so I can speak personally of it's

effectiveness...

Look at your diet---drink lots of clean water and eat as close to the

earth as possible---it makes a difference. The acne is coming from

the inside.

One of the gentlest ways to harmonize hormones is through Reflexology.

The side effects are nothing but positive. Worth a try. She can also

try Pascalite clay as a facial mask a few times a week. Amazing stuff,

a pot should be in every household! http://pascalite.com

And last buy not least, MASSIVE probiotics, though if she eats healthy

to start with, that might not make much difference.

Oh one more: EFT! I suffered the miseries of acne in my long-ago youth

(how come most of today's junk-swilling teens have clear skin?) and it

always got worse with STRESS.

Even though she says she is eating really well, write it down---

everything and really look at it, post it here and you might get some

help with that. It may be obvious.

I would suggest giving up all dairy products and using a good

probiotic and doing a liver cleanse. When the liver is clean it can

process hormones. A good quality fish oil or perhaps borage oil may

help. Vitamin D may be lacking as well. Sunshine is great for the

skin. Living where I do, it's dark and gray most of the winter and

everyone's skin gets worse. Most likely I would assume that dairy may

be a culprit. What's healthy for one person may not be for another so

it's pretty hard to say if her diet is healthy or not.

I've been using tea tree oil for both myself and my 13 year old son.

Just a small dab on Q-tip and applied directly to the pimple works

well -- often times over night.

Also I have found a readymade herbal acne remedy " Burt's Bees- Herbal

Blemish Stick. "

This Herbal Blemish Stick is not a " chapstick " like stick. It is a

small glass bottle with a little roller ball at the top. You tilt the

bottle to move the liquid up and then rub the roller ball on the

affected area. The directions said to apply the stick to the affected

area after washing.

Ingredients are:

" SD Alcohol 40-B (from yellow corn), calendula extract, borage

extract, yarrow extract, parsley extract, willow bark extract, lemon

oil, fennel oil, water, tea tree oil, juniper oil, eucalyptus oil. "

It smells great imo.

Sounds like a damp heat situation. Stay away from greasy and spicy foods.

There are good acupuncture points and chinese herbs for this sort of thing.

Tea Tree is helpful once you have a blemish, but addressing the CAUSE

of the acne is the goal. Is it hormonal? Is it all over the face or

basically on the chin line?

Acne is often associated with a zinc deficiency which is very

inexpensive and easy to supplement with. Helpful for so many things.

Hi Michelle,

She feels that it is hormonal as when she goes on the pill her skin

becomes totally clear...but she doesn't want to be on the pill but is

finding it hard to cope with her skin being very spotty.

The spots are all over her face.

She has been taking Evening Primrose Oil for several months and it has

made no difference.

She has tried tumeric, vitamins, eats lots of salmon, fresh vegetables,

and fresh fruit.

Interestly enough, I just completed a Personal Consultation for a woman

with hormonal acne a few days ago. I learned a lot about it while

researching and preparing her evaluation.

Her acne is likely caused by an excess of androgens, especially if it's

primarily around the chin and jaw line. Yes, allopathic docs put women

on the pill because estrogens " block " the over abundance of androgens.

But, then you've got the issue of synthetic, risk-laden hormones which

she is wise to avoid.

Inhibiting 5-alpha reductase type I activity is the goal. One of the

best approaches is zinc, but there's sure a lot more to it than that.

Flax oil helps, and a good, comprehensive multiple vitamin. There are

also numerous herbs and foods that help.

Hello,

I used to get large internal/external pimples around the jaw line....having

done network chiropractic where your nervous system is worked on, freeing

subluxations your body holds on to, I no longer have any of this.

Try this before going to any internal remedies/chemicals.

  Namaste,

Cathy
