Guest guest
Hi Erin, Congrats on the newest little one! I hope the birth went well for both of you. You must have your hands so full right now with 4 little ones! WOW! ::I salute you:: She's just looking for info on how folks have dealt with whooping cough and made it go away as quickly as possible. Seems both her and her little one are afflicted. *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Erin of Eden Essentials [eddi01] Thursday, July 11, 2002 1:57 PM Re: Whooping Cough My children and I had it the winter of 2001. They have to report it to the state, and we had an " official quarantine " put on us (like I would drag my sick butt and my VERY sick children--who were 4, 3, and 1--out of the house with that!) and I had state/county health people checking up on me constantly. They treated me as a neglectful mom because of it (and they said, if it weren't for the fact that they were afraid to come near our house, they would have taken my kids away), so my first tip is to take care of it yourself. Cherry Bark Blend helps. A running humidifier with eucalyptus oil in it. Breathing in steam when you can't catch your breath from coughing. Sleep propped up completely, so you're not even at an angle--sitting straight up (helps you breath--laying down caused us to stop breathing and then we'd cough and pass out). Let's see...after we were over the worst of it, we all took Astragulas several times a day and that helped us get 100% better much faster than the doctors said we would. LMK if there's more she needs to know. :-) -- <><Erin Blessed to be a full-time mama to my 5 yo Ballerina, 4 yo Warrior, 2 yo Entertainer, Mama to one of God's newest Angels (m/c 6/29) Proud owner of Eden Essentials, products for natural women http://www.edenessentials.com

I know, I know, it sounds daft but I did it with mine when they had it and it still worked, HTH Baz in Lancs UK Always striving for " betterbubbles "
Guest guest
this is my own experince w/whooping cough... TAKE THE ANTIBOTICS!!! i came home from vacation sick one summer. went to the doc. took some antibotics. i ended up having to go back to work... but still coughing. i noticed there were other people at work coughing also. and i wasnt getting any better. doc presc something else. then i read in the paper that WC was going around in a neighboring community. i called my doc back and explained that i think i might have WC as i do seem to have all the symptoms. he finally presc me the specific antibiotic for WC and i got better right away... plus it had been so many weeks later. i was never confirmed w/it... but i know that was what was going around work... there were too many of us w/that lingering hacking cough... and IT HURTS to keep coughing like that. i was about 40yrs old when this occured. i'm 45 now. there just are some things that you should take real medications for!!! if i was your mother i would be very upset w/you also... why subject your children to misery and pain??? p.s. halls strawberry cough drops are wonderful! no imitations or flavors will do. i travel alot... and many times i will come home sick w/a sore throat... so when the WC happened... i discovered these drops... and they are my 'cure all' now... i keep them w/me all the time... and when ever i start feeling that soreness start... ive got my drops around... thanks for listening! xo~Carol ************** A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. Guest guest
Hi, I remember one very old ( some time in 1983-84) case in my family. My son was suffering from WHOOPING COUGH , I asked my wife to consult a physician. In the evening , when I was back home after my duty, I found my wife weeping. Upon asking she told me that doctor has diagnosed our son with " Primary Complex ( early stage of TB ) " and the treatment shall continue for about a year and put a bag ful of medicines in front of me.I consoled her not to worry. I immediately recalled a home remedy I read some time back. I immediately collected some ALUM , made fine dry powder by backing on a hot fry pan. Made powder and mixed equal amount of sugar powder. Start giving him half tea spoon of this mixture three times a day with plain water and the result was the WC was vanished in about 4-5 days. One can give a try of this , of course better if you consult an alternative practioner ( AYURVEDIC SYSTEM )about it.
