The Tarot Keys are a profound teaching on the energies and forces that

define our existence and govern development and evolution. The same

wisdom is encoded in the teachings of the Greek mathematician, mystic

and philosopher Pythagoras. This class will explore how these two

esoteric systems complement each other and reveal ever deeper levels of

meaning and guidance.

Karin Di Giacomo is a student of the Tarot, Astrology and Esoterics

since more than five decades. She holds Masters Degrees in Economics and

Psychology, works as a teacher and consultant and lives with her family

in Boulder, Colorado.

Session 1

After an introduction to the Pythagorean teaching of Numbers as

represented in the Tetractys, this class will explore the spiritual,

philosophical and esoteric dimensions of the Number One as illustrated

in the Tarot’s Major Arcana Keys 1 (Magician), 10 (Wheel of

Fortune) and 19 (Sun). These cards all represent the Number one on

different levels †" the principle of the Creative source, the

Monad and the Solar force. We will also consider how these three Keys

†" like the number one †" are embedded in every other Tarot

key †" they form the underlying matrix of intent for the entire

Tarot System.

Session 2

The Number 2 as the force of the Dyad, of Polarity is illustrated in the

Tarot Keys of the High Priestess (2), Justice (11) and 20 (Judgment).

This number represents the force that gives rise to wisdom, balance and

transcendence. We will also discuss the fact that all even-numbered

Tarot keys teach us some fundamental lessons about the energies of

quality and polarity.

Session 3

In this class, the meaning of the Pythagorean Number Three is explored

through the key of the Empress (3), the Hanged Man (12) and the World

(21). This “Number of Beauty†and of Abundance which

combines the energies of One and Two will furthermore be related to the

message of the Tarot Cards divisible by 3: the Lovers (6), the Hermit

(9) the Devil (15) and the Moon (18). The Mysteries of the origin and

evolution of life physical, emotional and spiritual are shown to be

connected with this number.

Session 4

With the number four the Tetractys finds its Completion. Four being a

multiple of the number dyadic number Two, the Emperor (4) and Death (13)

reveal the nature of this number as order and manifestation and its

polarity of dissolution and destruction. Other elements are contained in

the number four are the ideas of alignment and dominion. All cards that

are multiples of four (strength (8), the Hanged Man (12) the Tower (16)

and also Judgment (20) illustrate important facets of this “force

of the Squareâ€.
