Because I choose not too, my children have come down with whooping cough. I had my son tested (big mistake) and because it was positive the health dept. was notified. So now I have this lady calling me and I feel harrasing me about my children because they are not vaxed neither are they on the antibiotics I feel like lying to this lady but I know God doesnt want me to lie either so I tell her the truth when she asks her 20 ?'s. I have choose to do alternatives to the antibiotics (which only makes them not contagious) and we a quarintined to the house. My husband is working he has to. If you dont work you dont eat. We did start him on antibiotics because he is in public but it hasnt been the full 5 days. So she is telling me he needs to come home now. Well I can see where she is coming from not wanting to spread it. But can they do anything to me for not giving my kids antibiotics, like can they say I am neglecting my children and take them away. I am really worried and scared this could get out of hand. I am about ready to break and give them the antibiotics knowing it will most likly make them worse. But make everyone else happy. My own mom isnt talking to me because of all this it is really crazy. THese are my kids and I am doing what I believe is best for them. Let me know if you have any input please. THanks. I also beleive that vaccinations do pose a risk, and can sometimes in certain individuals do more harm than good. When I was 8 or 9 years old, my brother was vaccinated for Diptheria/Tetanus. The doctors already suspected him of being allergic to medications because my mom is highly allergic to most everything. So they gave him a half dose of the vaccine. It nearly killed him. I will never forget walking into his room and finding him cold and stiff in his crib. It was a miracle from God that he survived. So, I fully understand your decision not to vaccinate. As for your predicament with the Whooping Cough, antibiotics may or may not completely rid your children and husband of the infection. I do not know if your children may or may not be taken from you. That would depend entirely on your state's laws. But I would heartily recommend that you give Colloidal Silver a try. I was just on another thread discussing Utopia Silver's Advanced Colloidal Silver. It is truly wonderful. It is safe, natural and effective. I used it to cure myself of Lyme disease, which is extremely difficult to get rid of and antibiotics did not work for me. Then the medical establishment cut me off and would give me nothing. I was still in pain and running a 100+ degree temp. Silver was the only thing that did work. My step-daughters have taken silver from time to time. I believe it would be quite efficient in returning your children and husband to full health. Then the whole situation would resolve itself. Second, " NOT " vax your children is perfectly legal...once your children are school age " IF " you put them in public school this can be an issue. (I can help you with that as far as options in dealing with the " requirements " etc so you can continue to raise them vax free) I would 'consider' talking you your physcian, and ask what the benefits of anti-biotics are for whooping cough. Since the 'only' reason to give anti-biotics for whooping cough is to 'hopefully' shorten the duration. A friend of mine; her son had whooping cough, no treatment necessary and he recovered nicely. The health department 'could' report you to DFS, DO NOT let DFS in your home! I highly suggest speaking with your physcian and getting him/her on your side...let them know you are not averse to anti-biotic treatment (whether you are or not) but would like to take a more passive approach...as you've researched lots of info such as the excerpt below. Below I've copied and pasted an excerpt from the Mayo Clinic: Older children, teens and adults When whooping cough is diagnosed early in older children, teenagers and adults, doctors usually prescribe bed rest along with an antibiotic such as azithromycin or erythromycin. Although antibiotics won't cure whooping cough, they can shorten the duration of the illness and they shorten the period of communicability. If there is a confirmed diagnosis but a slow response to antibiotic therapy, it may be necessary to take the antibiotic for at least two weeks or longer. If the illness has progressed to the point of severe coughing spells, antibiotics aren't as effective but may still be used. Unfortunately, not much is available in the way of symptom relief. Over-the-counter cough medicines, for instance, have little effect on whooping cough. Meanwhile, you might want to keep antibiotics handy just in case your children do not respond to the milder more natural products. Don't get dogmatic in either direction, and never say never. What are you using? You have my deepest sympathy in this matter. It is getting scary. Since you waited so long to give the antibiotics to your children; which you must do since they are not vaccinated if you want them to get well; if you do not give the antibiotics they could get sicker; AntiBiotics work ONLY if given daily for the number of pills in bottle; now hear this: YOU SHOULD CONTACT THE SOCIAL WORKER AND SAY; I HAVE DECIDED TO GIVE MY KIDS THE ANTI BIOITCS AFTER ALL; BUT i DO NOT KNOW IF THE PILLS ARE SAFE... BEING I WAITED SO LONG; then say; Should I begin the Antibiotics I have here today? or should teh ch8ildren require another Doc. visit ? I would say they got sick because their immune system was not strong enough. I believe it's very important that you have this im mind and try to reinforce them in the future. I know there are medical doctors who are also trained in some natural healing and they are against vaccines. You should get in touch with them. Perhaps you can contact the Natural Hygiene Society. They have doctors and may help you. I googled whooping cough and the first thing that came up was a list of links, one of which was " alternative medicine " . Following that path might yield some good information. But my go-to in this case would be Doc Ian Shillington's " Huff and Puff " formula: equal parts of Mullein to soothe the lungs and Lobelia as an anti- spasmodic.
