Guest guest
thank you so much for the responses and info. I have had one blood test that showed a slight off in my levels, however I have also been suffering from intense breast pain during my luteal phase for many years, and yes, dr. lee's books, and others, attribute it to low progesterone. My recent blood test unfortunately was at the crux between pre=phase and luteal phase, so not helpful. my doctors, all of them, are clueless, even the endo, about hormones. and my insurance actually won't pay for the tests I want, nor the natural cream. however, the breast pain is severe and alarming. I think I'm going to look for a saliva testing site and just do it. I know dr. lee has contacts in his book. thank you also for mentioning your sensitive-friend can use that brand, melissa, b/c I too am extrememley sensitive to supplements and anything like them. so it will be a slow go of it. also, the candida thing, I did a spit test, think I have overload, but the docs, again, even tho they are women, are clueless, and said the HMO can't do a yeast test for me to back anything up. Any suggestions on how to be certain if I have candida. and what is the protocol for cleansing candida? I hear it is a year-long process/diet to really get it clean. and that the " candida cleanse " products/herbal etc., really don't do it. any info on this would also be so appreciated. it's been a long and debilitating healing road for me, and I am very much wanting to get myself and my life back. thank you so much! , Kathleen Barnes <manymoons wrote: > > Linda is correct. Guest guest
There are blood tests for candida, but they can be unreliable. There are many strains - candida albicans being the most common - and not all tests can pick up every strain. The main problem with this infection is all the toxins that get released, especially after candida has turned into a fungal form and burrowed through the intestine and into the blood stream. They then colonize the organs, including the heart, lungs, liver, and brain. This is why candida can produce so many different symptoms. Acetaldehyde, perhaps the most dangerous of all candida's toxins, is a potent neurotoxin and a probable carcinogen. If that wasn't bad enough, this chemical actually blocks hormones from entering into our cells. This is why hormone imbalances (hypothyroidism is the prime example) typically don't show up with a candida infection. Doctors test our blood levels, which come back normal because the BLOOD levels are fine. It's the CELLS themselves that cannot get enough of the hormones. I wouldn't recommend spending the money on a saliva test, because your hormone levels will vary greatly all throughout your cycle and the results will be hard to interpret. If you want to give it a try, low levels of natural progesterone cream are perfectly safe. There is plenty of room for experimentation. I've dealt with an incredibly acidic body pH and a horrible candida infection. After those battles I felt so much better, but it wasn't until I started progesterone supplementation that I got that spring back in my step. As far as candida cleanses, there are some supplements that do work. Some foods as well, like raw garlic and unrefined coconut oil (I love the brand by tropicaltraditions.com). I would HIGHLY recommend the Colonix and Toxin Out programs by drnatura.com. They combine a colon cleanse, parasite cleanse, candida cleanse, and full body detox in one three month program. You can eat normally and maintain your normal schedule. It's not cheap - about $300 total for the three-month program. But the results are incredible. It's VERY gentle too. And if you think about it, it's only a little over $3.00 a day, a small price to pay for getting your health back on track. Oh, and they have an unconditional 60 day money back guarantee. I have no financial ties to this company - I'm just a huge fan of their products. I just finished a free guide about candida not that long ago. Check it out for more in depth info: http://www.how-to-boost-your-immune-system.com/candida-albicans.html Hope all this proves helpful. Guest guest
Hello, In regard to progesterone cream, I can HIGHLY recommend Progestelle from Women's Therapeutic Institute. You can read all about this product at their website: http://www.womhoo.com It has rid me of breast pain and has improved me in so many ways. When you place an order, they also send a booklet including laundry detergents, foods, etc that have estrogen-like properties to keep away from. This product has been one of very few I have greatly benefited from.
