Guest guest
Thanks, Linda. I may do that to ask her a few questions. I did get the following email from AAOM and have copied it in case anyone else is interested. Kathleen " Hi Kathleen - we do have this tape available, entitled TCM Tx of (HPV) Lesions - Part I & II. The cost for both would be $20 made payable to AAOM, or we do take any major credit card. If you are interested, our IT manager actually provides the reproduction. If you are going to order, you can contact him by email and/or phone. His name is Brian Smither. Sincerely, Bekah " linda Gruber <lindagruber5 wrote: maybe contact Misha Cohen at QuanYin healing arts center in San Francisco. > " Kathleen Mathews " <kthmathews2003 >Chinese Medicine >Chinese Medicine >HPV >Thu, 31 Aug 2006 16:30:50 -0000 > >Does anyone know where I can get a tape of the following seminar? >Thank you. >Kathleen > >Ancient Medicine, Modern Application: Announcing the AAOM's 2002 Fall >Conference > >Misha Cohen, OMD, will deliver a talk entitled " TCM Treatment of Human >Papilloma Virus (HPV) Lesions: Preventing Cervical and Anal Cancer. Guest guest
Hi Folks: I believe that Conference recordings or AAOM have this tape in their archives for sale. I do not even think I have a copy of it! By the way, for those who are interested, we just completed the pilot Chinese medicine study for HPV-related anal neoplasia (HSIL) and here is the abstract which I presented at the Toronto International AIDS Conference two weeks ago. A Pilot Trial of a Traditional Treatment for Anal Neoplasia (HSIL) Jay N, Cohen MR, Berry JM, Darragh T Background: The incidence of human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated genital diseases is increased in HIV-positive individuals. HSIL is considered to be the precursor lesion for both cervical and anal cancer. It is hypothesized that treatment of anal HSIL will prevent anal cancer, similar to the decrease in cervical cancer attributed to treatment of cervical HSIL. Standards of care for treatment of Anal HSIL are still in development. Ablation is the mainstay of therapy which is invasive, painful and associated with frequent recurrences in HIV positive individuals who often present with large and/or circumferential lesions which are not amenable to ablation. Many patients seek Traditional (TCM) as a non-invasive holistic approach, however little is known regarding the safety or efficacy of these treatments. Methods: Patients with histologically-proven anal HSIL were enrolled in a 9-month safety and feasibility treatment study. Treatment consisted of weekly acupuncture, moxibustion and an herbal cream self-applied twice daily to the HSIL. Patients were monitored for safety and compliance at 2 and 4 weeks, and 3, 6, 9, and 12 months. Results: Thirteen men and 2 women (14 HIV-positive) enrolled in the study. All patients have completed the 9 month treatment, 3 patients have not yet returned for a 12 month visit. There were no adverse events. Compliance was good in all but one who discontinued treatment during a 2-month episode of unrelated illness. There was complete or partial regression in 4 of 15 patients. An additional 3 patients responded initially but developed recurrences. Conclusions: The treatment was safe and feasible. The TCM treatment may effectively treat anal HSIL but larger randomized trials are needed. Misha R. Cohen, OMD, L.Ac. Asst. Guest guest
Dear Carmel, I'd do a full Incurables Program as outlined in the FILES if I were you. Next, a bolus / suppository made with the Total Healing Poultice Powder would be essential. This could be mixed with distilled water, a little DMSO, and a quarter clove of crushed garlic for super effectiveness. Depending on your overall health, this could be handled terminatedly in 3 months or as little as a 7 weeks if you're willing to work hard at it.
