Guest guest
Hi, I have a friend who wants to know if he needs to cleanse. He feels good and has 2 BM's a day. He wants to know what the sense of doing a cleanse if he feels good and his body is working good? Thanks, Genevive
Guest guest
You will get 50 different answers to this question. And when you say cleanse; what is your definition of " cleanse " ? I personally eat a vegan diet; not many refined foods...(well we all fudge once in a while...) I don't see the necessity of a " fasting cleanse " ; I think it can do more damage than good. But that's my opinion. Guest guest
Hi Genevive- I assume you're talking about a colon irrigation? I don't have enough info to really answer the question but I'd start with " He feels good " is really vague. What's his lifestyle? What's his diet? His booze consumption? Caffeine consumption? Is he on any scrip or OTC meds? Has he been treated in the past with repeated courses of antibiotics and/or steroids? Does he use synthetic chemicals to clean his house and/or to control pests in his house or on his lawn? With any of things, he might " feel good " for now but he could be setting himself up for a big fall- so cleansing (and a general detox of diet and supplements) could really benefit him. But if he's already living really clean, eating organically, etc. and feels good, then no I don't think he needs it. Hope that helps. Guest guest
It all depends on his total lifestyle. I know many people are quite obsessed with cleanses, and quite frankly, I think it is a bit overdone. But most healing traditions have a cleansing period in early spring, when food used to be scarce anyway. It makes a lot of sense really. How is your friend feeling? What was his reason for asking? There are a gazillion good cleanses on the market. Any health company that sells a whole program will have a cleansing kit as part of its offer. Fiberzon Plus and Rainforest Treasure tea, from Amazon Herb Company, is one example. Easy, gentle, effective, delicious, $55. This link now goes to the website of a friend, I can no longer sell these products to my great regret. http://wildhealing.net For a cheap and effective DIY kit, mix equal parts of Pascalite clay with psyllium husk. Pascalite clay is one of those gifts from Nature that is perfect just as is. It has a lot of uses and a bottle should be in every home. http://pascalite.com Any health food store will have psyllium husks in bulk, dirt cheap. Do drink LOTS of water with any psyllium product! A day eating nothing but apples, a few days on the Master cleanse of lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne, there are lots of ways to cleanse. I should probably do one, but the thought of doing without coffee first thing in the morning is just too much...
