Guest guest
Suggestions needed for acne My daughter is 27 and gets acne break outs on her face. They are flat and if you touch them clear fluid comes out. They are not black/white heads but more like blisters. She has seen a dermatologist in the past and they always want to put her on an anti- biotic which of course she doesn't want to do. She eats well, mostly vegetarian but with some eggs and fish. Drinks green tea, water and little or no alcohol. She does have stress at work sometimes. She already juices and drinks wheatgrass, takes good quality supplements including anti-virals and anti- bacterials. Last night she said she has these same blisters (for lack of a better explanation) on her left middle finger and this happens from time to time. She lives in Los Angeles in an apartment with her two cats. So, I have been helping her deal with her skin issues her whole life and we though we had it licked until the last couple of weeks. I don't think the cats are a factor. I do think her apartment is contributing to the issue, possible mold / mildew. I do think smog and pollution is not helping. I do think she mostly has her stress under control and the breakouts do not generally coincide with the more stressful times at work. I have considered candida and she has done a cleanse in the past with no change. All suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance Teresa

Guest guest
This is interesting. As some of you know I have been battling acne with my very handsome 13 yo son. I have done everything - most recent we have started on Cs/DMSO. His Dr. prescribed Bactrim - which we tried and it did nothing. Next he prescribed a 3 MONTH ling dose of Tetracyciline. We are not willing to risk his teeth so we are passing on the last. His problems never started until he got a bad sunburn summer of 07. Now his back is covered with the same type of blisters Teresa mentioned with the exception that no liquid comes out just kind of like a small hard scab-like. The Dr says no correlation with the sunburn but I still think its related. So far the best results we have seen has been from clay but no where near good enough. Guest guest
The skin is a reflection of your internal organs and how healthy or unhealthy they are. The skin is kind of like a mirror of what's happening in the deep layers of the body. If your internal detoxification organs (intestine, liver, kidneys) are working properly and doing their daily job of detoxification and they are not overburdened (congested), then the skin will feel soft, and look beautiful. The skin is the largest elimination organ, and it'll take over the burden of elimination when you are out of balance internally - when the detoxification organs are congested and cannot do their job, specifically the intestinal tract, liver, and kidneys. When the body is out of balance, it's prone to a lot of physical problems, for instance skin problems. People with healthy immune systems, good digestion, and ample nutrition live relatively free of physical discomfort. When the liver is congested and cannot perform its eliminative function, waste matter (toxins) is thrown into the blood stream. Toxic blood must discharge its toxins, so nature uses vicarious avenues of elimination or substitutes. The lungs, therefore, will take over the task of eliminating some of the wastes that should have gone through the kidneys, or the skin will take over for the liver. If the bile poisons in the blood come out through the skin, we get the various irritations of the skin, such as boils, carbuncles, acne, etc. Thus, the skin is substituting for the liver, or a vicarious elimination is occurring through the skin. The best cure for your skin is to eat the best diet and get the detox system working better by adding whole food supplements to support the internal organs. In terms of the diet, I recommend you eliminate white flour products from his diet, as well as sugar (all forms of sugar, artificial included, and high fructose corn syrup, etc.) By supporting the immune system, supporting the digestive tract, and supplementing micronutrients and antioxidants, it will really benefit people suffering from any type of physical discomfort. And if we don't improve the immune system, digestion, and overall nutrition, then even going to the doctor with medical intervention won't achieve the results you want, since doctors normally just treat the symptoms. Keep in mind that the skin is the largest elimination organ and whatever the body is trying to eliminate through the skin, you just have to let it happen and not cover the symptoms with medications. There is a relationship between nutrition and health, the miracle of healing lies in your body, and all that you have to do is feed him well and give him the foundation of probiotics, enzymes, and micronutritents, and I'm sure you'll see his skin becoming radiant and healthy looking. First, build his friendly bacteria population in the intestinal tract to keep the immune system strong with Bifidus (http://www.tinyurl.com/26rur) Second, cooked food has no enzymatic activity, so add enzymes to aid in his digestion http://www.tinyurl.com/mkwo). And third, add micronutrients and trace minerals to fill in the gaps in his nutrition http://tinyurl.com/g1iz These supplements I work with are based on real food and are natural and/or organic. I've personally used these products since 1996 and have gotten great results. We also carry an excellent Antioxidant Lotion with Beta Glucan (http://tinyurl.com/2q4md) (Beta glucan is an antioxidant and will help stimulate the skin's immune system and hasten the skin's repair from damage) Whole food supplementation and a slight change in your son's diet is the most sensible way to address his skin problems. Guest guest
Green Tea Oil is a natural antibiotic. It might work, but you might need to dilute it a little or start with a small area. Green Tea Oil is in the natural acne treatments as an active ingredient. Also Aloe Vera straight from the plant is miraculous!! Break a leave off and squeeze the juice out on your son's back. It has natural antibiotic qualities too. Guest guest
Carol, Thanks for the great info. This gets tricky because she is 27, doesn't smoke or drink, mostly vegetarian, as much organic as she can find / afford, exercises, drinks tons of water etc... she really is very healthy. She does a whole body cleanse twice a year ,,, I could go on and on. So this is why she is frustrated. Guest guest
One day my son who was plagued with zits in his teens, caught the flu. I began giving him 2000 mg and more of Vit C. to get rid of the flu. He got better, and then something interesting happened. His face totally cleared up. I figured it out, that if I gave him one to 2 thousand mg of Vit c a day he would not break out ever again. He is l8 and has not had a pimple since, unless he forgets to take his vit c. He has not gotten sick ever again either. Something cheap and harmless to try. Sincerely vickie From: vanokatDate: Fri, 16 Jan 2009 14:06:06 -0500Re: Suggestions needed for acne This is interesting. Guest guest
Hi Teresa, , " abbottteresa1 " <tabbott wrote: > > Carol, > Thanks for the great info. I agree with you. Carol's information is spot on. Thanks very much Carol, for sharing such great insights! > This gets tricky because she is 27, doesn't smoke or drink, mostly > vegetarian, as much organic as she can find / afford, exercises, drinks > tons of water etc... she really is very healthy. She does a whole body > cleanse twice a year ,,, I could go on and on. So this is why she is > frustrated. > > Teresa Despite all this, your daughter's pathways of elimination may still very well be congested and/or not working at peak efficiency, and she also may not be getting all the high quality nourishment her body needs to stay and get well. No matter how well we take care of ourselves, our bodies are constantly being bombarded with environmental toxins - through the air we breathe, the food we eat, the water we drink and even the products we use to clean our homes and our clothes. Toxins can even enter our bodies via personal products like mouthwash, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, hair conditioner, face creams and lotions etc. And even though we may think we're eating well, these days the soil in which much of our food is grown has been drastically depleted of both macro and micro minerals. So a lot of the food we eat is just not as nourishing for our bodies as it once was and ought to be. If our bodies aren't well nourished, this can be a big factor in our susceptibility to chronic illness. This is why it's so important these days to supplement our diets with the highest quality, most potent nutraceuticals and superfoods we can find if we want to stay well or get well. Besides Carol's suggestions of using things like probiotics, enzymes and green foods, your daughter might also want to consider doing some deeper, ongoing internal detoxification besides just her twice a year cleanses. And perhaps she might also look into taking some very effective adaptogenic nutraceuticals and/or superfoods to help support her immune function. Detoxification Activated charcoal is a powerful agent of detoxification. The best way I've found to take it is by dissolving fine powder in water and drinking it as a slurry. It will turn your stools black, but along the way its adsorptive properties will draw out all sorts of toxic and pathogenic material, cleansing the blood and internal organs. Here are a few very informative sites where you can read more about the great health benefits of activated charcoal: http://healingtools.tripod.com/ACP_pages.html http://www.charcoalremedies.com/why_charcoal http://www.buyactivatedcharcoal.com/ Bentonite clay is another very effective (internal and external) detoxifier, and can be hydrated and taken internally right along with activated charcoal. Powdered clay can also be used in the bath, as soaking in clay water is a very powerful way of drawing toxins out of the body through the skin. Adding sea salt or epsom salt to a clay bath provides an even deeper cleansing effect. Check out Jason Eaton's website, which is one of the best places to learn about the healing and cleansing properties of clay: http://eytonsearth.org/ Galina St. George has created this site, which has even more great information on clay: http://www.naturalrussia.com/natural/index.html Dry skin brushing is another really simple, easy and effective method of stimulating and supporting the body's natural eliminative processes. It not only helps to slough off dead skin cells and encourage blood flow, but also is a great way to stimulate lymph circulation, which is vital to helping the body detoxify itself. Something else your daughter may wish to seriously look into in terms of internal detoxification is doing a series of liver flushes. This may be especially helpful for her, since rashes or other kinds of breakouts on the skin can often be an indication of stagnancy in the liver. Here's some solid information on an excellent liver flush protocol to follow: http://www.curezone.com/cleanse/liver/huldas_recipe.asp Nourishment In terms of adaptogens, medicinal mushrooms have been used by natural healers for thousands of years and are some of the most potent immune modulators around. A rich source of polysaccharides like beta glucans, mushrooms such as Reishi, Chaga, Cordyceps, Shiitake, Lion's Mane, Maitake and others provide a myriad of beneficial properties for human health while having virtually no known harmful side effects. Here are some links where you can find out more: http://www.gmushrooms.com/Health/nmh.html http://www.mushroomscience.com/msstore/about_mushrooms.htm Some other very effective and important supplements your DD might consider adding to her diet are: * High Grade Marine based Omega 3 EFA's * Astaxanthin * Modifilan * Vitamin D3 * Magnesium Any kind of sea vegetables (seaweeds) like nori, kelp, dulse, arame etc. are not only excellent sources of both polysaccharides and trace minerals, but also help to cleanse and purify the blood. And in addition to blue green algae, other green foods like powdered spirulina, broken cell wall chlorella and green grasses like wheat, barley, kamut and oats are both chock full of high quality nourishment and very cleansing for the body at the same time. Although it sounds like your daughter is already doing many of the right things diet and lifestyle-wise, if she's still suffering from a chronic ailment, then maybe it's time for her to take her cleansing and nourishment to the next level by incorporating some of these suggestions into her routine. elan > , " bluegreensolutions " > <bluegreensolutions@> wrote: > > > > The skin is a reflection of your internal organs and how healthy or > > unhealthy they are. Guest guest
Hi there, I am 44 and have have suffered the same dilemma since the same age (little younger). Luckily, when I was young I had a perfect complexion. I describe mine as small boils and sometimes they get so bad (without antibiotics) that they form a tiny cyst inside. No matter what we call them - they are exactly as you describe. I am probably totally wrong, but I found certain ingredients like chocolate, which according to my Dr. increases estrogen somehow, causes this. There are other foods that do the same, but I can't remember them. Also, the tea, actually ESPECIALLY the tea and even green tea, unfortunately. I react to all teas with acne breakouts, even chamomile as far as I know. Since I recently began asking and speaking to people about this , I have found quite a few people with the same problem :0( And I LOVE tea which means I keep antibiotic on hand regularly. Alternative answers, I have found a few to keep me off antibiotics that work well. I keep 100% pure certified organic oregano oil (62-69% Carvacrol), lavendar, and geranium on hand to dot on sores (some of the least expensive essential oils). Tea Tree oil might work better, but the word " tea " in it scares me, LOL. Once in a while I take cotton compresses with strong rubbing alchohol on them and hold that on the sore(s), BUT found that it will lead to more dark blotch-like scarring so be very careful (it burns my outer layer of skin but I may have overly sensitive skin). The alcohol really works the best, unfortunately, but I wouldn't do it more than a few minutes at a time and maybe 3 times a day. Another answer I discovered accidentally: I had an outbreak at the same time I was battling bronchitis for which I took oregano capsules (like 8 a day) - it cured both. I have used oregano capsules a number of times to cure the acne along with the oregano oil and lots of water (well, it's not just acne - they're worse). I could be totally off about the tea for your daughter, but you never know; and you didn't mention anything about chocolate I don't think, but there is one more culprit for me: potato chips or oily foods. Potato chips and anything greasy or oily -- even omega 3 fish oils (I have to use Coromega and carefully). It is without fail that if I eat more than just 3-4 potato chips I will have to bear the aftermath and take antibiotics. My husband is always canning hot peppers in olive oil -- I LOVE THEM -- but again, I suffer and am pulling the antibiotics down of the shelf. Never fails with the chocolate, oily foods, and teas. Me, I'd be keeping a journal maybe??? And I will tell you it is 2-3 and sometimes 4 days after eating the listed foods that I begin to show an outbreak. It is seldom, if ever, the very next day unless I really chomped the chips, for example (which I am scared to death to do so seldom find out too often). I didn't do the journal, but wish I had. What happened instead was I'd have a clear complexion, basically except for scars, grab a bag of salt & vinegar chips one day and I'd have a break out (same with other mentioned, like tea). After several times, I " got it " . You are " RIGHT ON " about the stress. Same here! This, according to my Dr. is hormone imbalance due to stress. I use Young Living Peace and Calming during these times, cheap Rexall 2500 mcg Sunlingual B-12, and yoga (ok - that sounds too uppity - I use Wii Fit and a yoga DVD, LOL). God bless, and many precious thoughts to your daughter, Dee , " abbottteresa1 " <tabbott wrote: > > Suggestions needed for acne > > My daughter is 27 and gets acne break outs on her face. Guest guest
if it is acne, it relays to cold drinks, stop cold drinks and start drinking warm water/fluid. she is eating too poor, this is not constributing to her body's energy demand. she has to eat normal, meat, salty and sweat, when she starts drinking warm and eating habbits changes, acne will go away without treatment. --- 2009å¹´1月16æ—¥ 星期五,abbottteresa1 <tabbott 寫é“﹕ 寄件人: abbottteresa1 <tabbott 主題: Suggestions needed for acne 收件人: 日期: 2009 1 16 星期五 ä¸‹åˆ 11:59 Suggestions needed for acne My daughter is 27 and gets acne break outs on her face.
