Guest guest
Please Help! Can anyone give info on ways to help with outbreaks of Herpes Simplex 1? Or prevention of outbreaks? I have done research from computer and have some information. I have not been diagnosed from my doctor yet, but will be going this week. Daughter has same outbreaks on lips, patches on elbow, and is returning home from Mexico tonight. She went to Dermatoligst in Mexico and a Hemeopathic doctor as well and both said she has the virus. They recommended both medicine and natural ways to help with outbreaks and prevention. I have been a member of this group and wanted to get any of your ideas as well. This started with me after I fell a bit over a year ago and had two real bad abrasions on my knee which never did heal properly and i ended up going to Urgent Care, given prednosone pills, and two antiobiotics, but after going to my primary doctor the two days later, he had me stop the antibiotics and sent me to a dermatologist because of hives/rash that had popped out pretty much all over my torso. Then 4 months later, last April, I had an enormous breakout of blisters/tingling/itchies on my neck, face, lips, with oozing then crust over. The doctors could not figure out what it was, both primary and dermatoligs said I had bad case of excema and told to take antihistimes and to put the steroid cream on during breakouts. This weekend is the worst breakout Ive had since last April. Daughter also started with symptoms of lips tingling and such after she, too, got abrasion on her arm after a fall, then got a bad rash on her legs after she shaved. That was the start for her tingling/itchy/puffy/blistery lips. Please email me if you have any info that may help us. I am also going crazy trying to keep everything clean and hands washed, separate laundry as well. I appreciate anyones information to us. Guest guest
Herpes Simplex 1 and Herpes Simplex 2....one is the outbreaks around the mouth...the other is referred to as " genital herpes " ....(below the waist). I've " never " heard of herpes on the elbow or arms. I'd question that as a diagnosis. There is a blood test that can confirm if you have the virus and which type...ask your Dr. to do this and that will help. Herpes on the trunk of your body is 'not' herpes...but referred to as shingles...relative to the chicken pox....same family. Anyone who has had chicken pox can get shingles later in life. Hope this helps....do a google search on Herpex and Shingles...there's tons of online info. --- On Sun, 1/11/09, TC <tgrisler wrote: TC <tgrisler Herpes simplex 1 Sunday, January 11, 2009, 1:31 PM Please Help! Guest guest
Teri, what did homeopath recommended for you daughter? Homeopathy is able to handle and treat wide range of skin conditions. I have a patient, who initially came to see me 5 years ago with similar complaint and after finding his constitutional remedy, we are able to keep it under control. Now he gets it very infrequently only if he has lots of stress at work, but as soon as it starts he takes his remedy and it goes away. Definitely see a homeopath before you start taking any western meds, which are extremely suppressive. Let me know if you want any referrals in your area (I don't know where you are). www.homeopathyforyou.com , " TC " <tgrisler wrote: > > Please Help! > > Can anyone give info on ways to help with outbreaks of Herpes Simplex > 1? Guest guest
I have had problems with the ones on my mouth for years! I noticed that every time I got around cats I would have a flair up. I put Watkins Menthol Camphor Ointment on it or them (sores) as soon as I feel the tingle.. I would /will apply this several times in a day. (More then required)I would not let it dry out for about 2-3 days but it is almost gone by then. They used to last for weeks. Now when I am around cats I always wash my hands before putting my hands near my face. Also sickness and stress can sometimes give me a pretty bad outbreak. I may get one blister on the other or 3 at a time on my mouth. It is better now that I know about the cats (I hear they actually carry viruses)And knowing the tingle. I immediately start putting the ointment on. I really hope this helps. I may have even started a study off this one. Guest guest
Sounds terrible; you want to try to heal this; here is my advice: a. DO NOT USE ANY COMMERCIAL HAND SOAP OR SHOWER SOAPS OR SHAMPOOS; This is 50 % of the cure; the soaps and the shampoos allow the bacteria and viruses to enter the skin because these are abrasive; Then take NIACIN VIT. B3; VIT. C; VITMAIN B-COMPLEX AND PROBIOTICS.--- Then take an oil type Vitamin skin creme; drink lots of Milk; Milk has Lysine and Riboflavin; both stop Herpes Simples Virus. I knew a guy who had fever blisters on his lips bady; I told him Drink 3 glasses of milk a day; in 3 days the blisters were gone; Anna In , " TC " <tgrisler wrote: > > Please Help! > > Can anyone give info on ways to help with outbreaks of Herpes Simplex > 1? He takes 1 Lysine per day every morning. You can also get Lysine cream to put your lips for an active outbreak. As soon as you feel the slightest tingle start, put ice on the spot a few times that fist and second day and that has helped too.
