Hi..

My sister is very sick with GERD. She is awaiting an appt. to see a gastro doctor, and being on an HMO, it will not be for 2 weeks. Is there anything I can do for her? She cannot keep any food down. She will eat some food and then it regurgitates up, not as food most of the time , but as a white foamy liquid. She says she feels like she has a bubble and she has to keep burping, and until she burps a sufficient amt. she cannot even get liquid down.

Thanks for any information.

Try:

Increased

water intake.

2000-4000mh

Cod liver oil daily (natural anti-inflamatory)

Take

a digestive enzyme

Take

probiotics

This

typically does the trick.

Dr. Millers Holy Tea is great. It stopped my acid

reflux on the second day. It has been 2 months and I

have not had it once. My husband also had heartburn

and acid reflux at night. He doesn';t have it anymore.

If you want to know more about this e-mail me:

  • 8 months later...
  • 1 year later...

In homeopathy remedies are chosen based on " like cures like " ...not soley on

symptoms.  Perhaps someone else can help you more there.

A few suggestions:

Avoid heavy meals in the evening, greasy & fried foods should be limited if not

avoided...if possilbe avoid eating after 6 pm., sleep with your head slightly

elevated, and if you smoke that will aggravate GERD as will excessive caffiene

and alcohol consumption.

Depending on the severity of symptoms...a few alterations in your daily habits

may help if it's not something more  thats contributing to the GERD.

Luck to you!

Hi,

I'm not sure about homeopathy, but you could try taking a teaspoon of liquid

honey at night before bed - I do this and it has really reduced the amount of

reflux I get at night.

There are many things that help with GERD one is Apple cider Vingear.

Taking about 1oz a day is a big help. The other I have used is a

product called GastroQuell from a company called Blue Poppy I took it

for about 6 months and have not had much problem with it for the last

3 - 4 years. worked well for me

Hi list

Rather than looking for remedies for GERD, I would like to look for causes.

The number one cause is the mal-digestion of carbohydrates or fats or

proteins because of low/high stomach acidity, low enzymes or H. Pylori.

The number two reason is the poor intestinal digestion due to poor

production/release of bile or bicarbonate.

The number three is the poor combination of foods

The number four is allergies to certain foods and the presence of

artificial foods additives

The number five is eating too fast (swallowing air) improper chewing

(leaving mechanical digestion to stomach), eating too much food

Obviously one needs to check for medical reasons such as the presence of

ulcers, inflammatory intestinal patterns, etc.

GERD can occur right after meals and later on indicating where the

problem is stomach or intestine-driven

If gas is present (oral or rectal) or constipation can also tell you a

lot about the condition.

Finally many stomach problems are related to liver, adrenal/emotional,

attitudinal conditions.

regards Frank
